After two years of horrible pain and a year of severe constepation getting worse and worse going to other hospitals for over to years week in and week out, I was rushed to king Edward Hospital with severe stomach pain, weak and not feeling well at all. The nurse got wheel chair when i got there, fetched my file and took me to emergency. At emergency they were really very good did bloods gave me injections for pain then sent me of to x rays. After x rays they saw I'm a patient for surgical and I was send to causality were they placed on a drip did more blood test etc. Only after I was pain free and they did all the test to make sure I'm not in any danger I was discharged With a date to go to sopd on Monday and I was assured that my case is handed over to the senior doctor that I'll be in good hands and all better in no time. I went to sopd were I hardly waited 5 minutes when the doctor called me, he saw that I'm not well at all and admitted me. We discussed my medial history and he booked ultrasound were first part of my problem was diagnosed and the gynecologist came to see me the next day and more test was done. Went in for my colonoscopy and doctor i have a stricture in mycollon a problem that doctors at previous hospitals for past for over two years could not diagnose had two previous colonososcopys. Because it is Easter weakened and nothing can be done over weekends and publick holidays I was allowed to come home and spend Easter with my family and I'm going back Tommorow to be admitted again. From the team of doctors that hast been treating me I have absolutely no complaints, they are caring, just excellent. The nurses in the ward also caring and wonderful to the security also always helpful. Everyone I came across at king edward hospital very friendly, caring and helpful. The hospital is very clean and smells clean.

I thought bring a sick person to this hospital will be better than other gov hospital just to find the same terrible attitude/ rude nurses and Dr and no feedback whatsoever and then when you get to actually speak to a person get told to come in and see the dr @ 8 patiently waiting and he walk out to go to a meeting and the attitude is wait or come back again when you dont knw a thing about what is going on with the patient grrrrr terrible way to treat people

The staff at casualty (22/11/2024) was very efficient and professional. Within an hour I was examined, given medication, had x-rays and diagnosed. Although there were emergencies in the theater, the remaining staff kept it moving. The place was very clean including the restrooms. The security guards were also helpful. I am happy with the service I received.

I have been crying the whole day! King Edward has my father in ICU fighting for his life, has not been diagnosed, not letting him eat for a whole WEEK!! If he passes on, I will fully blame that hospital! If someone can chew and speak, why aren’t you letting him eat?? Because you are taking forever to put him in theatre, when it was supposed to be done 5 days ago!

Sat the 8th I went to emergency room to see gynecologist and when I got there I was told that the Doc is busy with martenity and. It's only 1 doc on duty so she might see to us or not. Cool we understood. Later she came a young black lady her name is Miss N Khoza. She saw to all of with so much care and patience she admitted half of us because we needed surgery and at that she booked for theatre and to my surprise at 8pm when I was taken to theatre there she was to perform the oparation oh my God I was so scared and also feeling sorry for her that she must have been so tired but again she did what she had to do with so much care and patience I was so impressed kudos to her. I'm now back to myself nomor pains thanks to her.

I must say i am very impressed with the new revamped King Edward Hospital. The hospital is clean, looks good and just so different from what Im used to. The staff is more motivated and happy while working. Seems like even their attitudes got revamped during renovations. The admin is on point. You hardly wait more than 10 mins waiting for your file. They have installed speakers in their wards. Soft music is played. You forget you in hospital. Everyone knows music is food for the soul. Music alone is medicinal. Though they might be short staffed but they work together as a team. For the first time. I spent 4 days in the ward and never heard any nurses bad mouthing/ gossiping about each other. Their catering is on point. Im just really speechless and astonished. Big Up to Sis Nontobeko the PR. She plays a big role on how we being treated as patients in the hospital. To the Labour ward team and O1 ward team thank you for your hospitality.😊 For caring and entertaining us. President Ramaphosa we appreciate the high standards in the hospital.
