My wife and I were booked into chalet 11 at Mpila camp from the 11 to the 16 June but owing to the following problems we left on the 15 June as we could not stand the situation any further Before I get more into the problems I must state that we have been to Mpila or Hilltops Camps at least once a year for the last 20 years and are well aware of the camps. At Mpila we normally stay in the tents, normally tent number 29 but on this occasion we were warned to stay away from the tents as they had been totally overrun by ******s. We therefore stayed in chalet number 11. The problems are. 1. ******s. Whilst still unpacking the vehicle we were totally overrun by ******s. One ****** tried to tear a packet of bread roles from my wife and when she resisted the ****** bearded his teeth at her. When I tried to kick the ****** he bit my boot, luckily I had think boots on and the bite did not get through the boot to my skin. The whole time we were there we were not able to sit outside the chalet, until after about 5pm, and eat without being attacked by ******s. We were actually prisoners of very aggressive ******s. 2. Even inside the chalet we still had problems with ******s. As you probably know the chalets have recently been renovated which sounds nice but the old wooden windows with strong wooden blinds have been replaced with aluminium windows with no blinds. The result of this is keeping the windows shut all the time. This is not pleasant in the winter as it was quite hot and will be unbearable in summer. In addition in summer there will be no way to keep the mosquitoes or other insects out. The main door, which is still wood and has quite a strong screen door is not able to be locked from the inside. The ******s have found a way of opening the screen door and on more than one occasion broke into the chalet whilst my wife was cooking and stole fruit and vegetables. We know that on the same night neighbours on both sides of us were also broken into by ******s and food ******. What makes it worse is that these ******s are not scared and are actually very aggressive. We spoke to the ****s and the office and they all admitted that the ******s have become a huge problem and they are inundated by complaints. 3. As usual when we are at Mpila we drive over to Hilltops and have coffee and something to eat on the beautiful terrace. When we arrived we noticed that there was no one on the terrace and it soon became obvious that ******s were the problem. We moved to the dining room and found ******s there as well as in the bar area, reception and we believe even the kitchen. Again all the staff we spoke to admitted that the ******s were a huge problem except one person by the main reception who just stated how could we moan as the ******s were there first. I asked him if the ******s paid to stay there and it was the visitors that paid his salary. 4. The chalets are advertised with TV but the TV’s did not work. When I complained at reception I was told that the DSTV subscription fees had not been paid and that none of the TV’s worked. I also noticed that all the TV’s were Samsung, a very expensive make, but without the subscription being paid absolutely useless, another example of fruitless and wasteful expenditure. 5. One morning my wife was having a shower when the water suddenly went cold. I went to reception to complain and was told that most of the chalets were having the same problems as the gas had run out. Surely the gas should be checked and this not allowed to happen . In addition all the geysers are gas and every geyser is marked “ for outdoor use only”. There was always a very strong smell of gas in the bathroom but luckily the bathroom window was the old type with a strong blind that could be left open. I am sure you are aware that visitors in the berg have already died from gas poisoning. • In conclusion you are losing many visitors because of the ******s and strict action needs to be taken. The ******s are intimidating the guests and strong action needs to be taken, this could be the form of trapping and moving , culling or employing staff with shambucks to chase the ******s away. I have never come across such

I tried to book a camp spot via KZN wildlife and they failed to send my quote to my email adress. I phoned twice to find out from them when I will receive the quote and if they had my email correct, I confirmed my email was correct and they said they will send the quote as soon as possible. They never sent the email and 24 hours before I was supposed to leave for the campsite they notified me that my booking had been cancelled as I never payed for the booking and that someone else has taken up my booking spot.

Please think twice before going to Impila. The cottages are NOT well maintained and are also dirty. Couldn't even have a shower because of the filthy state of it. The top of the stove was beyond description and the electrics were faulty. Just a warning to everyone. This place could be a little bit of heaven if run properly.

I've been trying for 12 days to make a booking through KZN Wildlife sites. It's been a nightmare! The contact information on their sites are incorrect and every single place I phoned don't answer their phones, they don't respond to messages or emails. I've sent 2 emails to ********** and no response! I then emailed KZN wildlife customer care who sent me a direct number for the campsite....very strange that these numbers don't appear on the KZN wildlife site!? So in order to get the direct number that actually works, you have to complain to customer care!? It just makes me wonder how much business these places are losing through KZN Wildlife

I made a reservation through KZN Wildlife for accommodation as Sugarload Caravan park. I made a payment of R1000.00. Something came up and I needed to cancel my reservation. I qualify for 90% refund due to the fact it is greater then 45 days of cancellation.

I have send through my banking details to ********** and they replied stating it will take about a week or so, it's been going on to 3 weeks. There is no one taking your calls, responding to e-mails, everytime I call the refunds office your call eventually dies or get authomatically transfered to the reservations line.

I just want my money back. I have send an e-mail stating my unhappiness and to date no reply.

We recently stayed over at Unit 25 in Thendele Camp at Royal Natal National Park from 11 to 15 March 2016.

The accommodation is comfortable and well designed and the site and views are really beautiful.
