I was at Le Kreamery branch in Illovo on a date with my boyfriend on Monday evening. I think we saw the manager (I’m assuming she’s a manager as she was very active) moving around more than we saw our waiter. My lamb chops came basted in bbq sauce (I confirmed with the waiter who wasn’t even our waiter) and when he brought me a non-basted one, the lamb was burnt, it tasted charred, I didn’t even finish it. And my boyfriend ordered a melt burger*, which came with cheddar, and we told the waiter he doesn’t eat cheddar and we wanted mozzarella instead, to which he argued saying we never said that. (Again, the lady that helped us was very friendly, our waiter was not) and the lady rectified the situation, but the food came well after my lamb chops got cold. I’m just disappointed because it was date night and you’d expect better from a place that’s located in Illovo and seeing the reviews online.

Me and my boyfriend went for dinner here as I saw many people were raving about the oven slow cooked steak . When we got there the place was jam packed we arrived at 18:45 and only received our food at 20:10. My boyfriend got Alfredo which was cold when they brought it and the portion for the chicken Alfredo was so small and not filling at all for the price . I got the oven clay slow cooked steak I asked for it to be medium rare which was completely rare when they brought it and I sent it back with the Alfredo to be warmed up , the Alfredo was still cold in some places and the steak was almost well done after they brought it back again . Absolutely disgusted with how horrible the steak was and the price we paid for such terrible food and service.

It’s definitely worth the hype!! Definitely a 10/10 The steak was absolutely amazing and not even badly priced. Dessert was scrumptious! Presentation was picture perfect as well as the quick and efficient service. Absolutely loved it can’t wait to go again🌸

Ordered from Le Kreamery Lakefield for delivery from Uber Eats and the service was terrible! The items were damaged, which I understand is the drivers fault, but there were items missing as well. I did get a partial refund from Uber Eats, which didn't even cover the missing items or all the damaged items. The managers Natasha and Michaela Cannon were extremely unhelpful when I called, and indicated that they did not include the item for delivery; and eventually, end result, I was still left without the missing items or a refund from Le Kreamery. Pretty pathetic customer service for a store on Uber Eats. They seem to be dropping their standards as this is the first time I have had such a negative experience with their stores!

Absolutely disgusting attitude and terrible customer service! Trading times on their website are horribly inaccurate. We planned to go on Monday and I checked the website which currently states that they are open from 10:00 - 20:15. We are from Joburg so I called in advance to find out if they’re open so that we don’t unnecessarily take a long drive for nothing. There was no answer after about 5 tries so I decided to check the Instagram page to find another telephone number and I saw a highlight story post with the trading hours saying that they are closed on Monday. We then decided to come again today (Friday) and I checked both the website and Instagram page trading hours to ensure that they are open. Both said that they are open from 9:00 - 22:00. We drove from Joburg and arrived at around 12:45. We got to the door (which was open) to find 1 waitress on her cellphone and the other sleeping with her head on the table. We waiting to be screened for Covid symptoms and for someone to assist us. The waitress said that they’re closed until 1:30 pm on a Friday. I proceeded to say that both the website and the Instagram page mentioned no break in the trading hours. She went to the back to call the manager who came and asked what the problem was. We proceeded to say that we drove from far yet he still insisted that nobody was allowed into the restaurant until 1:30 because they are closed for prayers. It was also raining yet there was no offer to even come inside and simply wait until 1:30 to place our order. The manager simply dismissed the issue as we cannot enter the store until 1:30 without so much as an apology for them inconveniencing us with their incorrect trading hours. Very unprofessional and arrogant service for the upmarket restaurant that they market themselves as. I cannot review the food as we did not eat there after being turned away.

So earlier this evening, at around 10h45 after having an awesome supper with the family in Umhlanga (Panarottis, Simply Asia and Burger Wrack at Gateway - Excellent food to say the least) , we decided to explore options for dessert when it was unanimously decided that Le Kreamery would be the way to go. It was at this point when I checked online to see their trading hours which states clearly both on Google and their Instagram profile that they will be open until midnight. 15 of us in 4 different vehicles raced to their Musgrave branch when, upon entering at 11h:15, I am told by the host "Sorry, we are closed for trade. Look at the sign!" pointing to the sign hanging on the open door. It's at this point that I tell him that this is not possible as it is 45 minutes before actual closing time wherein he tells me "You are mistaken, that is the Johannesburg branch." I then show him my phone which reflects the same stores address and trading hours when he screams across the room for Zaheera (I don't know who she is and what capacity she holds at this store) a few times. Yes it was busy, and she was engaged in conversation with some other patrons. A young boy with a beard then comes to the till point and reassures me that the store is closed. After going through the same conversation as I did with the previous guy, he also ends by saying firmly that the store is closed. He then states that their is no place for us to be seated when I pointed to him 4 tables placed together with their respective seats empty and dirty dishes on the tables asking him to take note that this is not the case. He then tells me that they had a busy day and it's the long weekend and reiterates that the store is closed, only now with the final excuse of the night being that their ingredients are now finished. In my opinion, this is totally unprofessional by the team on duty and to highlight the fact that they are falsely advertising their trading hours and should rather change this as it seems I am not the only one who has encountered this issue (refer to comments on Google regarding their trading hours-opening later than what has been advertised). Completely unacceptable. It was the first time that each of us 15 which was going to visit the store was actually going to be trying out what they have to offer, and I can comfortably state that each of us will never frequent this establishment ever. Disappointing first and last experience to say the least. Get your act together, Le Kreamery, or you will continue to lose good willing and paying customers.
