Lenovo South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Lenovo South Africa faces widespread criticism over product reliability and after-sales support. Recurring motherboard failures, overheating, hinge defects, and charging issues are frequently reported, often within months of purchase. Customers express deep frustration with repair partner PartServe, citing substandard repairs, excessive quotes, and poor communication. Many feel ignored after escalating issues, with warranty claims denied or unresolved for weeks. A small number of satisfied customers praise device performance and successful service resolutions, but the overwhelming sentiment reflects serious dissatisfaction with both product quality and customer service.

I bought a Lenovo laptop form Marko. One of the worst purchases of my life. Broke down twice in the first year. Takes months to repair. Currently being repaired and they are waiting for parts. Very bad communication (if any). Not at all embarrassed about their bad product.

I bought a Lenovo IP 3 i7 1255U 16 512 for an engineering student in May 2024. The syssem board needs replacing - less than two years from time of purchase. This seem like very poor quality for a machine that cost R15000.00. The replacement part is now very expensive and delivery has a long delay so i have to purchase another laptop as lectures resume next week - it will not be a Lennova.

Lenovo worst customer service unsatisfied will never buy again. At this point I am thoroughly disgusted with Lenovo's customer sales/support service. Anyone thinking of buying a Lenovo laptop – please reconsider.

I am highly disappointed and frustrated with Lenovo South Africa’s warranty service. My laptop, under warranty, was sent to PartServe for repair because it was not charging. Despite the unit being returned with a “no fault found” status, the device still does not charge at all. The communication throughout the process was poor and inconsistent, causing unnecessary delays. The estimated repair timeline passed, and with the holiday period approaching, I was left without a working device I urgently needed. I expected professional, efficient, and effective service for a product under warranty, but instead, I experienced frustration, lack of transparency, and inadequate problem resolution. Lenovo needs to seriously improve its warranty repair process and communication. I would give 0 stars if it was possible 🤞👎

Lenovo SA Refurb Giveaway Review – ThinkPad E490 I recently received a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad E490 through Lenovo South Africa, and I’m genuinely impressed. This machine proves that quality doesn’t fade—it evolves. Performance: The E490 handles my remote business support tasks with ease. From compliance workflows to spreadsheet design, it’s fast, reliable, and efficient. Build Quality: True to the ThinkPad legacy, it’s solid and professional. The keyboard is comfortable, the display is crisp, and the overall feel is premium—even as a refurbished unit. Battery Life: Long-lasting and dependable. I can power through my day without constantly reaching for the charger. Value: Lenovo SA has truly raised the bar. This refurbished laptop feels brand new, and it’s a smart choice for professionals who value performance without overspending. I’m proud to use a Lenovo device that supports my workflow and reflects my commitment to excellence. If this is what refurbished looks like, I can only imagine the power of a brand-new Lenovo. With the ThinkPad E490 already exceeding expectations, I’m excited to see what a brand-new Lenovo could unlock next. Unique Code: 107984.

Bought a Legion Go last year, now 2 months out of warranty the unit dies completely with a know defect that should be convered by warranty. "power delivery circuit or mainboard failure" Not only that there is no Lenovo centre in South Africa to even do a paid repair and there are no other Lenovo approved support that can repair the issue as Lenovo does not provide parts to correct the Defect. Oh and good luck trying to even send Lenovo a message, it all throws you back to their Whatsapp Bot which just repeats the same useless Troubleshooting guides that even Chat GPT provides better options. I was going to buy the Legion Go in the next month, but am actually glad this happened just before and knowing this now I will not take the risk on any of their products ever again and I had friends who were also looking at the Handhelds who will not take the Risk either. Stay away from Lenovo.
