I had such a horrible experience with Linprop. I have never met an Agency so heartless and me writing this review may mean that I will never get back what’s due to me but I’ve made peace with it. I terminated my lease agreement a month before the actual expiry date and gave the Agency a full 2 months notice so that they can get another tenant. Instead of the agency marketing the flat on that very same day of the notice, it was marketed on the second month and there were quite a lot of people who came in to view the flat. When I followed up on whether they have found the tenant I was told that they have and the tenant will move in on the very same date I move out. On the day of moving out I was told the potential tenant withdrawn and I am liable to pay for a full month rent. On the lease agreement it was stated that should I terminate early, I will have to give 20 days notice and in my case it was 2 months. The agreement further states I may have to pay a reasonable cancellation penalty but in my case the reasonable penalty was a whole 100% of my deposit. I tried to reason with the agency in at least paying 20% but they refused to this. Prior to me moving out I had asked someone to come and fix whatever needed to be fixed so that I leave the flat in a good state and I paid quite a lot of money for this. After doing everything by the book and ensuring the flat is in good condition, the agency refused to pay me my deposit. This is inhumane.

This is potentially the worst rental agency known to man. Steer clear, at all costs - in fact run and hide if you ever see their name. Rather pitch a tent in delta park or sleep in your car - but whatever you do avoid signing a contract with these clowns.

I was looking to rent a unit in Linden and tried to get hold of the letting agent Carina van der Linde, she didnt answer her cell phone (which is acceptable considering estate agents are busy people) so I called their office number and asked if I could possibly speak to another agent who could aid me in my enquiry. Carina answered the phone at the office and was extremely rude to me, saying 'ive just moved a tenant in for the last two hours!!' she treated me like dirt on the floor. I strongly advise that people in the Linden area seek help from other estate agencies because Linprop are clearly extremely unprofessional and rude. With the current economic climate you would think Linprop would emphasize client relations but clearly this is not a priority for them.

Having vacated a Linprop property on the 1st of October 2015, I was assured by Carina that damages and charges notwithstanding, I would receive my full deposit and interest accrued within seven days.

We attended the inspection together on Thursday 1 October and all was in order. I also paid my outstanding invoice immediately after vacating the premises in order to settle my account and avoid the risk of losing my deposit.

I then tried to contact Carina numerous times during the week, both on her cell and at the office but to no avail. I was promised feedback on Saturday 10 October but this did not materialise. I simply wanted to find out when I could expect the deposit to be repaid as my understanding of the Rental Act is as follows:

\Should there be no amounts owing by the tenant to the rental agent or landlord either for monies owing and unpaid in terms of the lease agreement
