Food - disappointed
Good day. I heard so much about your restaurant and couldn't wait to try your menu. I dined there yesterday and I must say I was nothing short of being bitterly disappointed. We ordered 2 starters (squid heads and espetada) and it took over 45min to prepare, no exaggeration. The 2 main courses (oxtail and kleftiko) took even longer. This is strange because both those meals are prepared beforehand, not to order. And both those meals had more potato in them than anything else. R245 each? Very friendly staff. Long story short, I came and saw and shall never return.

Treated with indignity
I've just had the worst time ever at this restaurant, Malagueta. I was with my husband when the ugly incident happened. I asked for the bill, and when the bill came I noticed that they charged me for boiled water in a cup with lemon. I normally ask for a cup of boiled water with lemon as I do at many other restaurants, and I do not get charged. I enquired and the manager says that they have to charge for everything. So, if they charge for everything, I asked him why did they not charge me for tap water. He then said that they actually should have charged me for tap water. I have never heard of such, even at other restaurants, I've never been charged for tap water, finger water nor cup of boiling water. So, even going to their restroom and using their soap to wash our hands, they should've charged us. What kind of madness is this? He (manager) did not want to be told that he is not making sense, this is odd as this should be part of their service as it used to occur before, and that the bad treatment may be a root of a bigger discrimination. We (my husband & I) told him that it's okay, we will pay as we were just asking for clarity purposes. He then rudely said that he is going to close the account for us, but he wants us to leave all at once. We felt treated like dirt...the very bad attitude of the manager was appalling. It saddens one that we have supported this restaurant since they started operating. Many of our family birthday parties have been held there. I wonder if this manager is a part owner or he is just a manager. Because owners care more about their businesses...Regardless, customers ought to be treated with the utmost care and respect if all they are doing is to enjoy a meal. We were truly treated with indignity; heartbreaking it is! The one who feels it knows it.

greedy for money that you did not earn
very disappointed with lack of service from your establishment. I paid for a reservation, came in as per booking, then had to cancel and leave immediately, due to unavailability of appropriate seating. i requested a refund, which was agreed upon. i have contacted you multiple times, requesting the same, and have been ignored. u were quick to take my money, but seem greedy in not being willing to return it as agreed upon on the date of reservation. poor show by yourselves.

Under new ownership-Amazing!!!
Under New ownership, brilliant food and service. Owners are all about family and are very interactive and always on the floor helping everyone. Atmosphere is great and we have loved going there. Congratulations!!!

Bad service
The owner off the company is so rude as he has no customer service and tells you that you can't day what you want to say 1st of all if you order a Amarula Dompedro and it tastes like there is sand in the dompedro I called a manager to tell them it's kak and the owner has the odasity to tell me that I can't say that I did not make a scene I did not scream nothing bad

They chased me away and were very rude and unfriendly , the manager said i would not find a place that would cater for my daughters party at my budget AFTER WE BOOKED A TABLE AND ADVISED THEM OF OUR BUDGET WELL OVER A MONTH BEFORE THE TIME AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDNT HELP 4 DAYS BEFORE THE PARTY ... I have now found a better and cheaper WITH BETTER REVIEWS AND FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UP YOURS MALAGUETA

I CALLED A WEEK LATER ADVISED THEM I HAD A BUDGET OF R1500 I THEN PUSHED IT UP TO AFTER I TOLD HIM MORE PEOPLE WILL BE COMING , PUSHED UP TO R1700 AND COULD THEY MAKE A PLAN FOR A PIZZAS AND 6 JUICE JUGS THE MANAGER SAID HE WILL GET BACK TO ME HE THEN SENT ME A PRICE OF NEARLY R4000.00 I ADVISED THEM I AM SURE PARENTS OF THE PARTY WILL ORDER FOOD I JUST WANTED TO PUT OUT BIT OF FOOD . HE THEN SAID R2500 , I ADVISED HIM AGAIN THAT HE KNEW MY BUDGET AND SHOULD OF TOLD ME. TOLD MY HUSBAND HE WAS LYING

Shocking serve at Malagueta Edenvale
Just been for breakfast at Malagueta Edenvale, The service is shocking ! They had all of three tables to serve and behaved as if they were doing us a favor ! All the staff paid more attention to cleaning the place instead of some staff cleaning and some serving patrons . The waitress was clueless and had only one table to serve !
