I had the worst experience contacting Masel****rt. The lady that answered the phone was no irritated. She answered very short- yes - no, we are full. Not giving any more information regarding times and accommodation. Management should really give your employers training in customer service.

We visited Masel****rt on 18 December 2024 to take the kids out for the day during the December School Holiday. What a BAD experience. Firstly we paid R80 per person at 08:00. When we want to swim,we were told that they are busy cleaning the main pool,we can only swim from 11:00,it would be great if we could have been informed at the entrance. Secondly,the place is filthy,beer bottle caps, cold drink bottle caps,sigarette buds, half eaten meat bones, empty KFC boxes are on the grass,whereby there are plenty of dustbins. Thirdly, the pool is very dirty,not blue at all,it looks like a river. Fourthly,we want to buy doom at the kiosk for the flies,sorry....the kiosk is closed, and is only opened Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Fifthly we were told that we are not allowed to enter with boom boxes,well well, to my surprise there were families who entered with boom boxes,and the happier they get the louder the boom box. Everywhere different types of music. Sixthly...the water of the swimming pool were running on the grass,it was muddy and we had to move three times to a different spot. Masel****rt is deteriorating more and more by the day,and I also feel that I wasted my money for the bad experience. Never ever again.

<div>On the 14th January late afternoon not in any way my fault I had a serious accident using the water slide (red supertube) at Masel****rt Holiday Resort resulting in myself having a serious concussion, losing consciousness and leading me to drowning which very nearly claimed my life.I was hospitalised because of this. This review is directed towards Mr Martin Smith who is apparently a manager at this resort and his poor attitude regarding this situation!!!. Approximately a week after my incident discharged from hospital whilst I was resting and recovering my elderly mother Mrs Paola Tromp phoned you Mr Martin Smith in an emotional,desperate and kind hearted attempt simply to find out more of any information regarding the incident that occurred that day and because of my concussion the happenings and everything there after being a blur to myself.Whilst this call proceeded with you sir she had her cell phone on loudspeaker of which I overheard every single word very clearly!! FIRSTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I NEED TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT PERFECTLY CLEAR TO YOU MR MARTIN SMITH!!!!!!! THIS SIR IS A MOTHER THAT NEARLY LOST HER FIRST BORN CHILD WHOM SHE CARES FOR AND LOVES VERY MUCH THAT DAY!!! But Mr Martin Smith, from the start of that phone call, your arrogant tone of voice,unsympathetic rude and unhelpful attitude towards my mother and my situation was unnecessary, uncalled for and utterly disgusting !!! You were extremely defensive and quite obviously trying to avoid that phone call and hide information from us!!!! One of the questions she asked you sir was if it would be possible to view the CCTV footage of the incident this was simply for clarification with absolutely no underlying reason other than only to make the situation less confused and more comprehensible for us all because as a family we are confused on the situation but you sir did not even deny having this footage but went directly to the fact that a court order would be necessary to view this footage!! Why sir??!! Why not suggest an invite to view this footage if there was nothing to hide or at least discuss an alternative means of helping us with some justified information that we deserve on what happened that day!!!??? I'll answer you that question Mr Martin Smith!!! That answer is because of how the situation was handled by your staff members how disorganised everything was with the lack of any proper medical care at all and the fact that how my injuries were handled that day by your staff sir could have resulted in leaving me with devastating life changing results!Whilst other questions were asked again with no straight answers but more uncalled for arrogance from you fueled by more rudeness you then proceeded on having this ridiculous insinuation that this incident was all my fault and occurred because of myself being reckless whilst using that waterslide! Not only did you clearly and blatantly lie to my mother in that shameful conversation sir but you left my mother with a desperate feeling of lost and hurtful emotions! SHAME ON YOU!!! YOU ARE A HEARTLESS AND HORRIBLE PERSON!!!!! And to add to insult how my 14 year old nephew that nearly witnessed his uncle die in front of him that day got told by your staff members that it was his responsibility as a panicking 14 year old child to contact next of kin and also the emergency services!! PATHETIC!!! My initial plan after regaining strength was to make and appointment and speak to you face to face or at least on a telephone call and for the lack of better words “tell you your fortune” but then I have decided instead of lowering my standards to suit to your obviously cold and floored personality I'd rather publicly as they say “name and shame” you sir as I would not have the patience to personally deal with the low level of human that you are!! So Mr Martin Smith I openly say that you are a perfect example of what is wrong with this world today and I will not even request that you challenge these statements I make as that I am more than confident without a shadow of a doubt that you are one hundred percent incapable of providing any of my statements in this letter wrong!! And with that Mr Martin Smith may karma take its course with you and your future endeavours!!! And to Masel****rt Resort I suggest you improve your safety standards drastically, improve your staff training and also implement a proper medical backup system as with GODs grace I have survived this ordeal and thankfully with time will completely heal physically and mentally but the next person may not!!</div>

Toe ek bespreking gedoen het net ek gevra vir n chalet met my aankoms vandag 2023-11-09 het ek n rondawel gekry ons het vinnig afgepak En toe terug dorp toe om die dokter toe te gaan met on terugkoms het ek weer my baie muwwerige reuk gekry en besef dat ek my nie vroeër verbeel het oor die reuk die dak is vol spinnekop webbe daar's wurms Indië stort En vlooie en klein spinnekoppies kort kort op die bed die kaste is vuil die toilet se af voer pyp Ná die riool stelsel lek en meeste van vuil water lek uit as jy die toilet trek het kantoor probeer bel maar was 19 30 reeds toe nou te bang om te slaap want spinnekoppe en insekte sal jou stukkend byt moet seker maar in my kar gaan slaap sal dalk veiliger wees

On the 22th I spoke with edward telephonically to make a booking for 13 adults,he thanSaif I must please send an email to make the booking,I than send the email stating that I want to make a booking for 2x5 sleepers and 1x3sleepers chalets,on the 25th after no response from my email of the 22nd I send another email to change my booking from 2x5 sleepers and 1x3sleepers to 3x5 sleepers chalets.on the 26th November just after 9 the morning I decided to phone to hear is my booking in place,I spoke to a lady named Dinah,she informed me that the 5 sleeper chalets are fully booked but she can change the 4 sleeper chalets into 5 sleeper chalets,she even explained that 2 people have to sleep on sleeper couches as I had to change the booking now to 2x5 sleeper chalets because we were only 10 going,I than confirmed and told her no problem that arrangement will suit us,she than told me that I will have to make payment within 48 hours in order to secure my booking and she will send the email immediately for the booking to me and the banking detail will also be on the email. I wasn't able to check my emails immediately as I was on the road the whole day,so later that day I saw the email for the booking.on the 28th early that morning before the 48 hours is finish I made payment if R2700 into the companies account. I didn't receive any email confirming the payment or booking.on the 9 the November I phoned the resort again to confirm my booking speaking again to Dinah,she asked me under whom did I make the booking,I than told her,she checked on the system and said christel your booking has been made,I than asked her if I can cancel the one chalet,she told me,seeing that I have already paid,I can't cancel because they don't do refunds but they can credit the chalet for me,I than said ok no problem and I also asked her how long will it stay in credit she said 3 months.our booking was for 27 November. On the 27th some of my friends were in a car accident,so we delayed booking in at the resort.at 16:18 I phoned the resort to inform them that we are delayed but we on our way,the guy at reception asked me my name and assured me that my booking is there.at 18:00 we arrived at the resort,only to find out that they can't find my booking and at that point the resort was left with a 2 sleeper chalets and a rondawel (which was in a horrible state,there was even a ****roach on the bed) I showed them the email Dinah has send me that very same they that we spoke,only to find out that Dinah has send 2 emails,the one in the morning she send to a wrong email address but it looked like my email,she added extra inverted commas to my email,so I didn't received the email and this email had the correct banking detail.the 2nd email was send just after 15:00 but this email had fnb banking details which was apparently the wrong banking detail and also the second email was send from frontdesk@masel****rt.co.za, which apparently is not their email address.so because they couldn't find my booking and because the manager felt that the money wasn't paid into the resorts account they couldn't accommodate us for the night...by that time it was 20:00 already,we asked them if they can't accommodate us in the 2 sleeper chalet and they said no. In the mean time Dinah was called to the reception area but the manager said she mustn't talk to us she must just be there he will do the talking,she at that point Dinah's side of the story wasn't heard.we had to phone around in Bloemfontein to hear who can accommodate us for the night as most bnbs was fully booked. We left there just after 8 pm. As we drove out of masel****rt premises there was a huge storm on our way to bloem and it was hailing,I couldn't even see infront of me but I put on my hazard lights and drove slowly on the yellow line because I was scared if I stand still in this storm that other cars won't see us in the street and drive right into us,luckily we came right at a guest house in Bloemfontein. That will be my first and last time that I'll be doing business with masel****rt resort ever again because it seems like fraud is part of their business.

Please avoid. Made a booking at Masel****rt Resort in December. Accommodation was not as advertised with not enough cutlery or furniture provided. Braai was rusted and due to collapse at any time. Booking was made through SA Places and both parties refuse to take responsibility and provide a refund. Was forced to book alternative accommodation. Please avoid!
