What a terrible experience with David Raath from My Next Property. It can be our dream home; I will NEVER make use of him again. With the payment of our deposit he gave us 30 minutes to pay almost R34 000. When you lodge maintenance repairs, he waits until next month’s rent before he sends somebody out to fix things. When doing an exit inspection, he zooms in with every photo but with the entry inspection photos are zoomed out. This way with exit you have more damage to fix to the property. With the refund of your deposit, he holds money back with unfair reasons. When talking to his tenants David is rude and disrespectful.

At which point is this business going to take the complaints again David Raath seriously? Why are there so many complaints and this man is still as rude as he is? Is this his establishment? Within the first 5 minutes of interacting with him, I had to come on here to see if people experienced the same arrogant, crass attitude I did. Didn’t even proceed to view the property I was interested in. I’m so glad I saw the reviews because that has absolutely saved me the trouble of dealing with this man!!

Signed an application form at one property, and then viewed another property with the same company the same day we were approved for the first property. I received a call from David Raath in the most disrespectful tone informing me that he will not do business with me due to how unethical I am, this being despite no lease agreement ever being signed. We only completed a credit check consent form. He continued to to inform me how unethical I am, how he will never do business with me, and how he will be reporting me to the legal practice council after I requested his professional details relating to the estate agency board. Absolutely appalled how I was spoken to, and how he conducts his business. If this is how he treats you before signing a lease agreement, I can only imagine how he will treat his tenants. Would never recommend David Raath or My Next Properties. I will definitely be taking this further.

I got a call from the estate agent David Raath so that we can arrange viewing of a rental property he advertised. He was very rude and started asking unnecessary question, and said he wont confirm viewing if I don't tell him were I worked. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

We have been renting through My next property at Unit 43 in St Marino complex in Honeydew. Now we have been good tenant paying every month on the date we receive our statements and not having any issues. However as we approached the end of our lease aggreement I asked Jesica Meyer about the month to month option since we did not want to commit to another year contract as we wanted to stay only untill the end of the year. Instead of just explaining to me, Jesica started throwing it in my face that there is no month to month option and that when the contract expires we must be out. And refused to even discuss it with the owner of the unit. So I respectfully just gave them my 1months notice. After that they suddenly said the owner decided to let us stay month to month and will even keep the rent the same which means Jessica. However we declined as we already found another place and I was too upset with the attitude from Jessica to stay here and this was onpy decided after they realized they now have to tell the owner I gave notice. Now in the lockdown we were supposed to move on the 30th April but can only now move on the 1st of May which should be OK if the lockdown ends. So I proposed to them that if the lockdown gets extended past the 1st of May for another week or 2 we will pay pro rata for the extra days and move as soon as the lockdown lifts. However their reply to me is that we must pay for a whole month if we dont move out on the 30th. This was from David Raath. This is utterly ridiculous. Just because they dont have anyone moving in they want me to pay a whole extra month even if the lockdown just gets extended for an extra week or 2. Believe me when I say My next property does not even care about their tenant during the lockdown so just imagine how little thye care outside of the lockdown. I realy regret ever doing business with My Next Property. This is a unpresidented worldwide lockdown but they are so greedy that they expect me to pay a full months rent should the lockdown get extended for even a week or two. Realy? Just because Jessica had a bad attitude when we wanted to stay month to month originally and they have to explain to the owners that the unit might be unoccupied for anoth month or 2 they want me to make up for a months of rent so they dont loose out. Even though I tried to meet them half way and proposed a pro rata rate. Ridiculous

My next property David screams at tenants when they request for things to be fixed in the property they let out. The day you sign the lease you are told we will make sure all things are fixed and working by the time you move in. The moment you are there when you remind them of the things that are not working it becomes a point of conflict and they start to threaten to evict you.
