Rather disappointed and frustrated that I need to be doing this, but I changed my Discovery RA amount through 1.618 in June 2025. And since then, they have double debited my account with the same amount for two consecutive months. I raised the issue on both occasions with Chelize Prinsloo who’s Travis’ PA, and was informed that they had incorrectly loaded my husband’s bank details on the wrong client’s profile, which makes absolutely no sense because why was MY account then debited and that in itself would be a massive redflag because why aren’t bank details changes being validated by the system or by Compliance?! I have requested to be transferred to someone more senior or whoever is dealing with this issue Discovery’s side, and have been met with resistance for some reason! The second debit order was deducted from my account on the 1st of August and I was told in the same week that a refund had been logge. I am writing this on the 19th of August and neither has the refund been made to me, nor has Chelize Prinsloo contacted me to let me know what the delay is. I am at my wits end with 1.618! I have worked with Travis for close to 10 years but my interactions with his PA have unfortunately had me looking to end my relationship with 1.618 and Discovery, which is the last thing I wanted to do but have been left with no choice. This type of negligence could easily become extremely problematic in the future and I simply cannot risk that.
It is very unfortunate that I need to do this. This is literally the best that the South of Johannesburg has to offer, and yet they have the worst customer care ever! I made a group booking at the Kraal and was asked to settle a deposit, which wasn’t deducted from the total bill which we paid! That was a good couple of thousands which they have owed me for weeks, and for which I constantly need to follow up on. I keep getting told I’ll receive a call back, which I never do. The number of times I have had to call them to chase them on this matter is ridiculous!!! To top it off, everyone I speak to either has no idea what they’re doing or has a completely different story with regards to what’s going on with this matter. I am at my wits end with this establishment. It has been a complete nightmare to deal with!
I’m not sure if the issue was the system they use at the pharmacy or *********** staff. All I know is that I left Medirite in Olivedale feeling like Checkers should have just stuck to their supermarket business. We’d been there a week ago to get meds for our son who’s a beneficiary on my husband’s medical aid. Today, they tell us none of my husband’s meds are gonna get covered by medical aid since it is inactive, and yet they could see we were recently there with the same medical which we were 100% sure was active. My biggest frustration is no one bothered to investigate with a superior to check what the issue could be. We ended up calling the medical aid company ourselves and then the pharmacist who was helping was suddenly busy with other stuff in the pharmacy and couldn’t speak to the person on the line until they hung up 🤡. Obviously we didn’t get helped after waiting for 40 minutes, and of course our next stop was Dischem (an actual pharmacy), and we were able to get the help we needed.
At which point is this business going to take the complaints again David Raath seriously? Why are there so many complaints and this man is still as rude as he is? Is this his establishment? Within the first 5 minutes of interacting with him, I had to come on here to see if people experienced the same arrogant, crass attitude I did. Didn’t even proceed to view the property I was interested in. I’m so glad I saw the reviews because that has absolutely saved me the trouble of dealing with this man!!
Such a joke! Worst kind of admin! Fees unjustified! Unprofessional! Would not recommend, particularly IIE MSA - what even is the point of that website? It's not even user friendly; it's all over the place. Also, I recently had an academic ban, which was implemented at the end of my degree, because they didn't have my matric certificate. I 100% remember providing this to them, but my real question is how was I even enrolled this whole time without that??? I swear they're not even a proper school because that is unheard of. What if i legit didn't have a matric?? After taking all my money, would have that have caused my degree to be revoked? From an oversight by YOU?? I mean there's so many other things I want to complain about, but honestly, I've had the worst experience with IIE MSA and it's been so exhausting, I just can't even. The point is: that place is just unreal. It's really a demo.
