I would like to lay my grievances with Ncanda Funerals. I approached Ncanda Funerals to cover 10 members at R550 a month. This cover has 1 month waiting period. On the 29th of August 2024, I had a teleconference with one of Ncanda Funerals' consultants confirming the cover. In Sept 2024, I submitted the list of members to be covered and made payment same day. After the payment, the consultant confirmed receipt of payment and promises to capture the members. On 23 December 2024, I lodged a claim as one of the members had passed on. I did not receive any communication nor the monies owed to me as per the cover. In January 2025, I visited Ncanda Funerals Durban Office, to find that the consultant did not capture the members. All monthly premiums were paid as agreed. The consultants negligence is the cause of this ordeal. The claims department then requests that I submit all relevant information like pictures and proof of payments and I do so. I was advised that an internal investigation was to be carried out. The following week I went to customer services where I was surprised to find out that the last time they worked on my file was when I lodged a complaint. I was told that they are awaiting the management to make a decision. When I visited them again, the same thing happened and was told to wait, with no time frame. I am completely dissatisfied with the assistance and urgency Ncanda Funerals has assisted me. I have lost money as a result. I believe that the management is unaware of this situation.

Absolutely shocking service. No one responds to emails; the call centre tells you to send a whatsapp which is also not attended to. I have been trying to get a copy of my Funeral policy since yesterday morning. There is just no sense of urgency nor ownership.

My uncle passed on and I submitted my claim with Ncanda on the 17th of September 2024. I was told payment with reflect on my account Friday 20th of September 2024. The funeral was on Saturday 21st September 2024. Today is the 25th of September 2024 and I'm still waiting for my payment. I'm very disappointed,

Ncanda funeral is a ****, today my mother inlaw is burrying her sister but the policy has not paid out, all the documents for the claim were submitted at the head office on Saturday the 30th of September 2023 and they promised to pay on Thursday the 5th of October 2023. Today is Saturday the 7th 2023, the day of the funeral, the claim has not been paid. How are we supposed to burry our loved one's when this company does like this. Im so ****ed.

Today is Saturday the 7th 2023, the day of the funeral, the claim has not been paid. How are we supposed to burry our loved one's when this company does like this. Im so ****ed.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation for the excellent service Ncanda funerals provided for my family, from the first call we made to report about my Dad’s passing they were supportive and caring. Their employees were professional and the service they provided is high class. The benefits/ service delivered was amazing judging from the premium my mom was paying, my Dad had a dignified funeral. I won’t hesitate to bring future clients to Ncanda funerals.
