This Hospital should be renamed from hospital to clinic, its so disappointing that community members go there seeking for medical assistance and go home without getting any, took my uncle there yesterday from 16H30 up until now 10;21 am 2025/05/27 no assistance has been rendered to us, we stuck here cause he is in pain and he is blind and the nurses just look at us without offering help. they keep moving him back saying its not emergency. like i am so frustrated with this hospital. times like this i wish i had medical aid. so disappointed from the bottom of my heart

Iam very disappointed at the pace of staff operations ,especially Doctors. The hospital claims its understaffed. To my gross disappointment . I took a cousin for bleeding in suspicion of miscarriage. She was admitted at around past 3 pm and was only attended at around past 3 am next morning . That means she spend the whole night in the wainting and the que was pathetically moving at an understandable pace.. again Today tbe 29th of December . One of my brother ******** son got sick and was badly vomiting. Also joined the que to about 3 hours without being attended .he had to take his child out to look for a private doctor. The reason to my dire disappointment' is , Oddi hospital was once been the best medical facility in our area to en extend of challenging George Mukhari hospital in terms of services. I recall one of the night shift hospital supervisor/ manager once addressed us saying that they have 2 doctors for that shift . So they are attending patients in casualty department according to the state of healthy. Not according to the line . That we can understand .but the problem Is the long waiting time frame for weather mild patience and also lack of adequate staff doctors to assist .because all life matters. The reason for referral from clinic level to Hospital ,it's a sign of seriousness of the healthy state.

[Peter Mashamaite] [1099 Odi Block v] [0190] [16/11/24] To: The Management of Odi District Hospital [Klipgat Rd, Mabopane Unit U, Mabopane] [0190] Cc: Department of Health Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unacceptably Poor Service Delivery Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the appalling service my family and I experienced at Odi District Hospital. We arrived at your facility on [15/11/24] around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM, and as of [16/11/24], at 6:00 AM, we have yet to receive any meaningful assistance. Our prolonged wait has been due to inefficiencies and an apparent lack of communication regarding our case. Initially, we were informed we were waiting for laboratory results, which were delayed without explanation. Subsequently, no further updates or assistance have been provided. Instead, we were left unattended, with staff members seemingly abandoning their responsibilities. This lack of care is in direct violation of the Batho Pele principles, which advocate for putting people first. The unprofessional conduct and dismissive attitudes of the nursing staff have left us deeply disappointed and disillusioned. Despite multiple requests to speak to the matron, this has been ignored, further exacerbating the situation. This is not the first time I have encountered such poor service at Odi District Hospital. I have raised concerns in the past, yet no improvements have been made. It is unacceptable for a public healthcare institution to consistently fail its patients. We have paid for these services, and it is disheartening to be treated with such disregard. I urge the Department of Health to intervene and investigate how services are being rendered at Odi District Hospital. Patients deserve efficient, compassionate, and professional care. I also request a thorough review of the staff's conduct, particularly regarding their attitudes and adherence to patient-centered care principles. Failure to address these issues promptly may leave me with no choice but to escalate this matter to higher authorities and the media. I look forward to your urgent response and to seeing tangible improvements in how services are delivered at Odi District Hospital. Yours sincerely, [Peter Mashamaite] [0712562357] [Email:Petermashamaite012@gmail.com]

I am 26 weeks pregnant and I was supposed to have come on the 31st of January for my check up but due to unforseen circumstances I only managed to be here today the 7th of February, some of the staff is threatening to send me back home, the other one says she'll keep my file and decide when she will register it and I be serviced. I'm told to go sit outside and wait, wait for exactly I don't know. I'm being punished like a little girl for coming a week later. I wonder why your nurses and sisters think they can just shout and address us as though we are not human beings. And it's a shame how they will all be on your case and shout.
