My complaint is not related to the prices achieved at auction, but rather to the extremely poor performance of the accounting department with regard to communication and payment. Goods that I consigned were sold at auction in May 2025. I received no feedback confirming which items had been sold or the prices achieved. After repeatedly following up, I was eventually provided with reports reflecting payments for goods sold in June 2025; however, no reports were provided for goods sold in May 2025. From that point onward, I made numerous attempts to resolve the matter and was repeatedly given the runaround by a staff member in the accounting department, Lesego. After continued follow-ups, I eventually received a payment on 9 December 2025, but this payment did not reflect the full amount outstanding. I queried the shortfall on several occasions with Olga in the accounting department. On 17 December 2025, I received the following message from her: “The amount of R*** is loaded and I will request for it to be released immediately and apologise for the inconvenience caused.” As of today, 5 January 2026, no further payment has been received. The ongoing lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to resolve this matter timeously are unacceptable. It appears that Olga takes little pride in her work, and her handling of this matter reflects poorly on Old Johannesburg Auctioneers as a whole.

Bought a lot on a auction now I don’t getting any answers from them and imre is not of any help of any sort and werda just not helpfull at i won’t purchase any thing from them again and if you email them they don’t answer them

I am disappointed at the latest lot that that was placed on Hillcrest branch Auction. When I had been there about weeks ago I was advised that my antique products would be placed on the next auction, However only one is on the lot??? The other issue is the communication. When I had brought my first lot aniques, I was told to email through my photos of all I have to auction off. I had explained on an email afterwards, that I have too much and I cannot send the message as it is too large. I asked to bring my antiques and then they could choose what would be auctioned off, but no reply. Even the phone number keeps going to voicemail. Reading the other reviews I am having second thoughts whether this was a good idea??? Where are the other antique programmes/booklets/magazines I had brought in on my original visit to your branch??

Bad service multiple emails don’t send email invoices only threw WhatsApp not very business and **** service form winelands team don’t even respond to email back really **** service from won’t be buying from them again and won’t even recommend this business to any one and that LETTIE PERSON working is not friendly and give **** service from I DEMAND TO TALK TO WITH MANGER OF WITH WINELANDS BRACH AND ANSWER FROM LETTIE AND SHONO

I have been both buying and selling a few items through them over the last 6 months. All I can say is BUYER & SELLER beware. The items shown on their site has been VERY photo shopped. Therefore if you are not able to go view the items you are interested in DO NOT BID. I have experienced this from both sides of the coil. Just sold a rug back to them that has been so badly photo shopped. The colour of the rug is actually green but was photoshopped to look bright Yellow.

One of the most pathetic and lazy employees I ever encountered, they all sit in the big glass office, to lazy to help customers, no greeting, no direction. The auction app is the only decent thing going for Old Johannesburg Warehouse. Stay clear if you want to encounter rude, entitled, pathetic, lackluster people, they do you a "favour"

I have been buying on line from Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers a few times & found them to be excellent & very helpfull regarding getting goods couriered. Their packaging of goods excellent as well.
