We arrived a week ago and since our arrival I have complained about a stinky bathroom, daily they say they have put something and the smell only subsides for an hour or 2. On Tuesday the smell was unbearable and then I was told the traps were not cleaned etc and they also don't know why these were not cleaned prior to my arrival. I requested to be moved and Jeferry the hotel manager refused to be moved due to the full hotel, which in all hinestly inst my problem as this was booked in June/ july as soon as bookings opened. Yet it was fine to take me when I'm sure you were fully aware there was an issue in the bathroom in my particular unit. This has actually ruined my entire experience for my kids and I as daily we had to endure a sewage smell. We couldn't even eat in the room because of the smell. We had aircons running all day and tried closing that bathroom door which also doesn't close completely because of a damaged handle. No amount of free breakfast or changing my room on my last night will help as it took up until the 11th hour to be taken seriously. The service received regarding my issue is actually pathetic. No empathy shown at all. We really looked forward to this holiday and are completely disappointed and disgusted by the non chalant attitude of the staff.

Check in and check out was smooth and quick . Excellent food and room service was efficient. Room was upgraded to a higher floor to enjoy the view Friendly staff always willing to assist From the "doorman" right to the general manager and housekeeping. Room was neat and had everything that we required and more. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

As a regular to the Peninsula, one can become blase about noticing and commenting on great service, as it is what we have come to expect. Well Chris and Bronwyn and the Rooms team and the Reception are always switched on and our check-in and out, overall service and accomodations are always superb. Congrats to the whole team for making our stays memorable ones....

On the afternoon of the 26th of October 2020, myself and my friend made our merry way in a taxify to the Peninsula All suite Hotel in Sea point. I was so very excited because not only was it my 4th time going but I was also introducing my friend to one of my most loved hotels that holds great memories. We got there and our taxify driver wanted to drop us at the main gate but I assured him he can go in and drop us at the door as I knew that was allowed. The car came to a stop, I got out first. Again, asked the gentleman who was doing the registration at the door whether we could just get our luggage out and then the driver would leave. He told me yes that’s fine. A tall man then approached us and made hand movements. He then said “come on come, move alone move along, get done.” I was so shocked and just tried to get the luggage out as the taxify driver also started getting nervous. As we walked to the table for the screening, I told the tall gentleman that he was very rude and that is not the way to speak to anyone. His response: “Rude, who was rude, I am the general manager of this hotel.” That took me totally aback because who cares whether you are the general manager Chris and does that give you the right to treat people the way you do. I then said to him that he is rude and that is no way to treat and welcome your guests who is coming to stay at YOUR hotel. Then he sarcastically continues talking to me saying “ok, hi how are you, how is your day.” I refused to entertain him at that point and asked him not to talk to me. I was so so disappointed, so very disappointed because never ever since my first stay at the Peninsula all suite hotel, have I ever been treated that way. I have always bragged so much about how welcoming it is and how my friends and family should definitely make a point of staying there. Well, Chris, Mr “I am the General Manager”, you not only changed my view of the hotel that you “represent” but you also made me think how you treat others. How you treat your family, friends, your staff? I decided to just make the most of our week stay but I just cannot leave this as it affected me deeply. What I DON’T want is: An apology because that should have been given and done at the time. A voucher, a free weekend stay. No thank you, I really don’t What I WOULD like is: That NO ONE would ever have to go through anything like that or feel like that Chris. You were so disrespectful, so rude, unapologetic and you felt like your position allowed you to do that to guests. Chris, maybe you should think of working on your customer relations, go for a customer service course or training. Up skill your self on that because YOU, Chris, YOU need it. No one is invincible Chris, not even General Managers Respectfully Yours Alexis

We booked a breakfast for a table of 10 , as the reviews indicated it was a family friendly restaurant. I had just 4 weeks prior given birth to a baby and wanted to introduce him to his grandfather. Unfortunately on arrival I had put the lean at table and went to car to fetch family and rest of baby goods . During this period another table who was sitting outside and seemed familiar with staff , decided it was too windy and sat at our booked table. Without wanting to Cause a scuffle I indicated to waiter that was our table . She said yes but you know these white people why don’t you go sit outside. She was too scared to confront them, so I did , they called me a liar and that I did not belong there . Enraged I took my baby and very loudly indicated they were racist but worse they would want to newborn baby to suffer for their own convenience . When I approached management she did not ask them to leave instead wanted to place us inside the hotel lobby which was equally as drafty. The incident happened over a year ago but it has angered me and my family so much we never returned and told everyone how I accommodating and welcoming they were to racists.

Hotel is old and tired but this is nothing to experiencing waking up to bed bugs. We woke up twice to bed bug droppings and having my kids and wife and myself all bitten to shreds by bed bugs. Rooms were filthy as well. Management would not apologise or take responsibility for the disgusting state of their rooms and even moved another family into the infested room! Worst hotel experience ever
