Poor workmanship
Repair worked was carried out in Dec'25, roof area leaking, contacted Permetex on 7 Jan'26. To date they have not come out to seal the area they worked on, excuses each week and promises to come out. Their workmanship is of poor quality and after sales service non existent. still waiting for them to come out and seal the area they worked.

Poor Workmanship, Ongoing Roof Leaks, and Lack of Follow-Up – Permatex
Permatex carried out roof work at my property on 28 November 2023, Willow Park Manor, Pretoria. Unfortunately, the workmanship has proven to be unsatisfactory. Since the work was completed, the roof has continued to leak. Over time, these persistent leakages have caused damage to the ceiling, walls, and flooring, resulting in serious concern and additional costs. My husband, my son and I have made several attempts over the years to contact Permatex to request remedial work. While assurances were given, no meaningful follow-up or rework took place. As a result, the condition of the property has deteriorated significantly. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service received, particularly the lack of accountability and follow-through after payment was made and a 15 year guarantee certificate issued. What is further concerning is that attempts by my son to post a review on HelloPeter regarding this matter were removed on two separate occasions, which adds to the frustration surrounding this unresolved issue. This experience has left us with ongoing damage and no resolution, despite repeated efforts to engage the service provider.

Your removal of my earlier ratings violates my rights as a consumer of your services. On what grounds are you removing this? Permatex Refuses to honour their commitment. You as a consumer platform you are complicit in this, how do you remove this without doing any verifications? My parents, Rev. S. Modise and Dr. M. Modise, appointed Permatex to repair a leaking roof at 50 Sklaar Street, Willow Park Manor, Pretoria East, Gauteng. The work was completed, after which a 15-year Certificate of Guarantee was issued However, when the rains commenced, it became evident that the workmanship was not up to standard, as the roof continued to leak. This resulted in visible damage to the ceiling and internal structures. Numerous attempts were made to contact Permatex to report these defects and request remedial action. While assurances were initially given that the matter would be attended to, no corrective work was carried out, and communication from Permatex eventually ceased. Earlier this year, we once again attempted to engage Permatex, particularly in light of the further deterioration of the roof and ceiling caused by recent heavy rains, but these efforts were unsuccessful. As a result, my parents have suffered financial loss and structural damage, including damp walls and ongoing interior damage, directly attributable to the defective workmanship and the failure to honour the issued guarantee.

Permatex - Unsatisfactory Paint Work – Dampness and Poor Coverage
Regarding the painting and damp-proofing work carried out by Permatex, around the end of 2022. Despite assurances of a 15-year guarantee (and up to 20 years as advertised on their website), the workmanship has proven unsatisfactory. Within three years of completion, the following issues have arisen: Dampness seeping through several areas of the walls. Paint bubbling and peeling, exposing the old paintwork underneath. Thin and uneven paint coverage, which makes the house appear as though it was never properly painted. I first notified Permatex of these problems on 23 January 2024, attaching photographs of the affected areas. Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails, but I have not received any written acknowledgement or response. The situation has worsened over time, with the damp spreading and the paint deteriorating further. This lack of communication and failure to honor the guarantee is unacceptable, especially given the significant investment made in this project. I am extremely disappointed in both the workmanship and the customer service received. I will not recommend Permatex to anyone and strongly advise others to stay away from this company.

PERMATEX SUCKS@ JOHAN WILL ***** YOUR MONEY AND NOT COMPLETE THE WORK
DO NOT USE PERMATEX. Johan is a literal ***** as is his forman Michael. ****s and ****mers and *******. Johan ran away with my money - and I mean 100's of thousands of rands. I foolishly paid upfront for renovations and to fix my roof. Johan (the owner) and Michael left without putting in my sliding doors nor did they complete the installation of the fireplace. They seem super friendly and attentive at first. Dont be fooled. With regards to fixing the roof - the minute the rains came i realised that they did not fix the promised leaks or replace gutters. Not to mention that it hasnt been 6 months and the paint is peeling and the damp is coming showing. Johan (the owner) will ignore your calls, and messages be flatout rude and eventually block you. Johan is a literal ***** as is his forman Michael. ****s and ****mers and *******.

Poor delivery on promises, lies and no after sales support
Not even 6 months later! Paint peeling, barge boards falling off. The poor painters are the ones working with little supplies. I feel for them having to work for such a company. Owners responses to paint peeling after two weeks (not one drop of rain) was they cannot guarantee builders defect! More like no primer was painted prior to painting. They just painted over the dirt and grime. I have now bought paint again and did it properly after spending a fortune for a company who cuts corners and promises you a dream and delivers a nightmare.
