I can confidently recommend buing a car from Phaalies, along with the warrentees that they recommend, due to the excelent service during and after the sale. In August 2023, we bought a 2016 Kia Sorento from Julian at Phaalies. Prior to committing to the car, we were concerned that there might be something hidden that was wrong with the car as it was in very good condition, had low kilometres and was a relatively low price compared to similar models with similar Sorentos in the market. We did see some negative reviews about Phaalies on the internet at that stage. The buying experience was very good, and Julian was very patient despite changing our mind to switch from buying the car in our business name after he did all the paperwork to buy it in my name. As part of the sales service, the Phaalies team recommended that we take out a Motormend Choice Pre-Owned Warranty for R11,500 to cover mechanical breakdowns for the next two years. Since buying the car and thoroughly enjoying it, I forgot about the warranty and didn’t save a copy. Over the last few months, the Sorento’s electronic Parking Brake started to engage and lock up after parking the vehicle, refusing to release but eventually releasing. We thought The whole time was due to parking on inclines. On Thursday, 6 February, it broke and started an audible alarm. Kia Hatfield quoted R35,000 to replace the affected unit. On the Friday I phoned Julian Wannenburg at Phaalies to enquire whether I did not perhaps buy insurance for the car. Julian went into Phaalies’ records and found the warranty. I contacted the insurance company and lodged the claim without hassles. The car was assessed on Monday, and on Wednesday, 12 February, I was informed that my car is ready to collect at no cost to me!

Very disappointed with phaalies auto as they do not sell cars in the condition which they are advertised . Decided to buy a car from phaalies auto on Friday, julian the owner said the car had not been re sprayed or worked on, upon further inspection we had seen it was re sprayed. He claimed it had full service history, but some of the service dates were not stamped, only signed, which could be signed by anyone. Finally I'd like to say the owner julian has no way of speaking to people or any customer service at all,I have recorded calls of him being rude.

I contacted them re a vehicle they advertised on Autotrader for R89900, I spoke to Julian who told me they will fix a small scratch and put new hubcaps on the vehicle and service the vehicle for this price. We sent all docs for financing. I then saw the changed the price of the same vehicle on Autotrader to R99900 then to R94900. I phoned him and asked what is going on and he was very rude and told me they cannot sell the vehicle for that price, I said you cannot advertise a vehicle and then change the price when you want to, I asked to speak to the owner and he refused to give me their name or contact details. This is dishonest and very bad!

I recently bought a Land rover Discovery 4 from Phaalies Auto. I was very impressed with the service and the way both Jaco (the owner) and Julian (the Sales manager) treated me. They gave me a fair trade in value on the 2 vehicles I trade in for the Discovery. Jaco took me in detail through the Discovery and point out the few scratches there were and also offer, without me asking, to fix the one scratch on the rear bumper. In addition, they register the vehicle in my name at no extra cost and I received the registration papers as promised on the day I took delivery of the vehicle. I will definitely recommend Phaalies to my friends.

This is one of the worst dealerships i have ever dealt with. I have bought more than 15 cars from various dealerships around the country and i have never been treated so poorly before. I saw an ad on autotrader for a specific vehicle. Went through to the dealership which is 60km from where i live to have a look. On arrival we went into the office where Julian assisted us. He did not seem very eager to assist us. We had a look at the vehicle and asked about finance etc to which Julian said he will forward us the application and we will arrange for my other vehicle to be brought in for trade in assessment. We sent through the application and never heard back from them. Called a few days later and Julian said the application was approved. I had to send validation documents through which i sent a few days later as i had some family commitments to attend to. A day or 2 later i called to find out if everything was in order and Julian said he needed additional documents which i then sent through. A day later I decided to take my current vehicle through for them to assess it for the trade in and drove 60km to there premises. On arrival i noticed the vehicle i was interested in buying was not on the lot. I walked into the office and Julian says he has bad news that the vehicle was sold this morning. I asked how can he not even call me to tell me there was someone else interested or that the vehicle was sold. All he had to say was sorry. Wasted my time and energy going back and forward with documents and driving to them. He could not even let us know in advance if there was another interested party which i think was only fair. Really bad service from Julian. Will never deal with Phaalies Auto again and will certainly not recommend there services to anyone. Good luck with your business if this is the kind of attitude and service clients will receive.
