Plato Coffee in Midstream Superspar plays load kwaito music at al times of the day. Today, on a Sunday evening, I was met loud and intrusive and music blaring loudly next to residential areas and just left. Even after multiple complaints this company insists on disrespecting the community and people who do not want their shopping trip turned into a shebeen-like experience.

I am so annoyed with this company. The first time I placed an order for coffee beans, they delivered them to my billing address instead of my shipping address. What ever happened to doing due diligence? I just placed another order- and changed my billing address to that of my shipping address- tell me why my order was, once again, shipped to my billing address? I’m annoyed! Beyond annoyed in fact. This company doesn’t take us seriously.

My first visit was this morning. The coffee was good. The service was dreadful. Only counter service is available where there was a long queue caused by lack of staff and the order-taker spent a very long time with each customer, writing things on the paper cup to be filled. Seating space is limited and cramped.

Hi there,I just had the most pathetic experience with Plato Coffee.I was trying to get hold of their Camps Bay Branch to see if it was suitable to take a client there for lunch. I went onto their website. Needless to say the Camps Bay branch doesn't have a contact number. I then tried to contact their head office number which is disconnected. I then try to get hold of the Bay Hotel in which the coffee shop resides nothing short of eight or nine times. When one dials their number the Bay Hotel goes dead and then tried another number and ended up going through to their Knysna Bookings for some or other obscure reason. They could not put me through to Camps Bay.All I want to know is if they have a suitable lunch menu??.All in all a most unpleasant experience!!!!

My local Plato has no phone number that one can call to ask if they have beans in stock, or if they are open, or, you know, just the usual every day stuff one wants to ask a person quickly. I managed to get hold of the store owner and he said he wanted to put a phone number up, but that he is forbidden to do so by the franchise. From my perspective, pushing a system where you require your potential clients to interact with a bot on your site for these purposes are a terrible and backwards idea. Good job, Plato. I guess I will just keep hanging out with your competition, then.

Just want to give a quick shout out to PLATô coffee shop in Appeltons Village. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, making every visit feel personal and special. The coffee itself is exceptional—rich, aromatic, and crafted with care. Whether you’re a fan of a perfectly pulled espresso, a velvety cappuccino, or something adventurous from their specialty menu, every cup is a delight. What truly sets PLATô apart is the vibe: it’s not just a coffee shop, it’s a community hub. The décor super clean, modern and eye-catching yet comfortable, making it ideal for both casual catch-ups and focused work sessions. You’ll leave not only satisfied but already planning your next visit. ✨ Plato Coffee Shop is a gem—where great coffee meets great people. Highly recommended! ✨

Definetly something you should try. Love there loyalty points. Everytime you purchase you receive loyalty points. How did i found out about this? My son Justin invited me for a coffee to relax and forget about work. Im hooked ever since. Ive purchased the Caribbean Mocha which is my favourite and make up gift baskets for birthdays etc.
