My car was starting and but cutting out so I took my car to Polo. They couldn't even get my car to start. After speaking to Chris he said it was a sensor issue and would cost me R4800. So I said sure go for it. This got my car to turn over but they said it was over fueling and they thought it was the ECU so that needed to be tested. another R4500. Oh he forgot to mention the prices he had been quoting me were Excluding labour and VAT so the actual total was Just shy of R13000 by now but if it wasn't the ECU he would refund me for the cost of the ECU test. The ECU comes back fine now the timing belt is out and the car is running but smoking terribly. (it's never done this before). an oil ring or some such under the engine must have gone. Oops the car stalled and the timing belt jumped. no the cam shaft is sticking. the engine needs to be overhauled. R65000. I decided no I'd rather just fetch it thanks. Told them I would be there on Friday to collect it(This is Wednesday and they've had the car for 6 weeks). Friday comes and it's still in pieces. wheels are off. can't be collected. come back next week. So we say Fine Wednesday 9am we'll be there to collect. the wheels are on but the engine is still in pieces and half of it is in the back seat. The moral of the story. STAY AWAY from Polo Auto Air. they will destroy your car, blame other people and give you back your car in pieces.

Extremely pathetic service from this mechanic shop. They are overpriced for the work they do not even complete. Very low degree of workmanship and inexperienced folk when it comes to dealing with your car. Be wary when taking your car here as it would leave with more issues than it came in with. My car is a testament to that.

I was really impressed by the customer service at Polo Auto Air (in Fontainebleau) http://poloautoair.co.za/. I went there to get my car's aircon re-gassed. The mechanic (Nic) tested its performance by checking the gas pressure and the temperature of the conditioned air. Both tests indicated there was no need to re-gas. He checked the pollen filter (which was dirty) and suggested that I purchase a new one at Midas and offered to fit it for me, which he did. The final bill was R0.00! Both Nic and the Manger where very decent guys. I will be taking my cars there for future servicing. It was refreshing to not feel ripped off by car mechanics.

My experience with Polo Auto Air is the staff is very helpful. Immediately upon arrival, the manager greets you and makes you feel welcome. You get professional advice, the work is done on time and excellent. When you collect your car you feel secure that the car is in top shape and safe to drive again. Guys keep up the good work.

Hello Peter, My ordeal started on Monday morning 6 May 2019 when my car wouldn’t start. My partner helped me do a quick test to see if it had any spark but there was none. I attempted to get it started during the day to no avail. On Wednesday 9 May my neighbor gave me the number of Polo Auto owned by Gary Button, a qualified auto electrician I was told. He said I should take the car in and have a look at it. Gary Button had the car from Thursday 9th May @ 1pm til Monday afternoon 13th May 2019, in that time he did a diagnostic test which indicated 10 problems, he didn’t tell me what they were exactly just that there is no fuel coming through and no spark. In the five days he had my car Gary replaced 2 x relay’s and 3 x fuses and still the car wouldn’t start. On Monday afternoon he finally called me to say he cannot find the problem I must come fetch the car and rather take it to Renault, they will be able to tell me what’s wrong with the car. Gary charged me R1351.00 for his trouble. This was for the new relays and fuses he replaced and 1 hours labour. I don’t believe he should have charged me anything for labour because he didn’t find the problem AND my car actually came back with more things wrong with it than when it went in. I sent it to him with a no spark problem but he sent it back to me with the following problems : ● No accelerator cable, because his “guy” didn’t put the clip back on, ●Petrol leaking out of my fuel rail, because somehow the connector plug has been broken, ● Indicators not working, because the fuse has blown but he charged me for new fuses. Over this last weekend my partner and I went through the entire engine bay testing all the wiring, making sure each and every wire had continuity and low ‘n behold we found one that was not working, a wire going from the cars ECU unit to the solenoid.. It was dead…. My brilliant partner rewired it and the car starts without any problems. I cannot believe that a so called qualified auto electrician could not find one little faulty wire. What did he do for three days?? What tests did he actually do to find the fault if my partner, who has nothing to do with electronics, could find it in two days and fix it. A new Fuel Rail connector plug is going to cost Me R1072.00 which can only be bought from Renault and it has to be imported from France. My advise to all out there, DO NOT EVER USE POLO AUTO AIR @ 71 Maria Street, Fontainebleau, Randburg. If your car problem is not simple, they have no idea what they are doing.

I took my car to them several times initially for a service and then to get the parts they recommended replaced and spent quite a lot of money with them. On more than 1 occasion they worked on my car before getting approval or even letting me know how much it cost. On the last occasion they forgot to put my air filter back in my car (its huge you cant miss it).

Still, after everything they replaced did not fix my fuel consumption issue. On taking it to a private mechanic, he deduced that they had used the wrong reference points on my cam-belt replacement resulting in a timing issue which was causing a higher fuel consumption and shuddering when idling. So I had to pay someone else to fix something they should've done to start with.

Although seemingly friendly, they are not thorough and do not give you confidence their work.
