I purchased a pair of Hoka Mach X running shoes from Sportsmans Warehouse Rondebosch (Cape Town), and after only two short runs, the shoes caused severe blisters and bleeding on my heels. I contacted Hoka South Africa (iKhambi Distribution) to report the issue and request assistance. Instead of any accountability or meaningful support, I was told the blisters were likely caused by “improper lacing” or “sock material” — without them ever assessing the shoes in person. Even after repeatedly asking for escalation, they refused to offer a refund or replacement, and insisted that I courier the shoes to from Pretoria to Cape Town at my own cost if no fault is found — which is completely unreasonable for a product that injured me after ONE normal use. This is unacceptable service from a premium global brand like Hoka, and it reflects poorly on how their South African distributor treats customers. My next step is to lodge a formal complaint with the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO) and informed Hoka Global. At this point, I’m left with a pair of expensive shoes that I cannot wear, cannot sell, and a clear sense that the distributor is unwilling to stand behind their product or the Hoka brand promise. Buyers beware — if anything goes wrong, you may be left with no real support.
TELECOMS NIGHTMARE Why is it so hard to cancel a contract? I will never understand these companies. I have been trying to cancel my wifi contract for so long now. On the site they direct you to a cancellation page which then says call 081180. I call the number, complete the promts and then the phone cuts!!! this happens multiple times. Eventually on one day i get through, i get told to cancel on the website. What an absolute joke!!! Please someone contact me urgently. Laeeq.paulsen@gmail.com
This is the worst institute i have ever dealt with. I am convinced they don't have anyone working for them because no matter how much I try to get hold of someone there, its literally mission impossible. I have contacted student advisors, their website, called their numbers all to no avail. How can a tertiary institution (who we pay thousands to) be so disgustingly poor with comms? Really baffles me that their service is this bad. I have been trying to get hold of someone for more than a month. Yes more than a month. All i want is an invoice to make payment so my studies can continue ffs. I would definitely recommend looking into alternate institutions other than Mancosa.
Hi Everyone Just a heads up, do not attempt to buy anything from the Cape Union Mart online store. I have tried to check out and pay 7 times over 3 days. Received the error message "Transaction unsuccessful" each time. Extremely annoying and unprofessional. I then went into store at Cavendish, floor manager there said he could not help me and i need to contact customer service as they could not get hold of them. What? Shocking. However, I attempted contacting customer service to no avail. Tried via email (no response) and then called. No answer of course. This is a perfect example of ridiculously poor customer service. I would not recommend.
Absolutely appalled at MTN. A contract was opened up on my name without me knowing (fraudulently) and has been running for more than 2 years! I now need to MTN to stop the debit order for that account and reimburse but they basically just refuse to contact me after i tried to contact them numerous times. I would definitely not recommend going anywhere near MTN when looking to get a phone or any device. Laeeq
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service! They claim same day delivery which is just false. I tried ordering flowers and personalized chocolates but was then told by an agent some other their items has a two day turn around time and it’s stated on their site. Utter rubbish! I checked on the site and I couldn’t see anything. If it in fact is there then it’s not clear enough for one to see. Proper advertising bull****. Now a loved one of mine won’t receive their birthday gift on their birthday thanks to Netflorist. I will never use them ever again, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to either. Seriously frustrated and disappointed customer.
