Shocking dealership! Last year I received a quote for a new ignition barrel. Twice, in December, I visited the dealership to make an appointment to have the new barrel fitted. The service manager was not available on both occasions and left messages to call me. No response! Three times I tried calling and left messages. Again no call back. Yesterday, 28th August, I took my car for a service and advised the check-in clerk that I required a new ignition barrel. I then saw a manager assigned to my car and advised her as well. Late in the afternoon, she advised me that I needed a new ignition barrel HUH I had already advised her but told her to go ahead with all necessary repairs and to order the parts. Today, 29th August, I received a call advising me that I had to pay an amount of R5,350, in advance, in order to order the part. When has a dealership EVER requested upfront payment? My car is in their hands - surely that acts as a form of security? Also, the car requires new front brake pads and they have to order them as well. Surely something as mundane and ordinary as brake pads are kept in stock - an everyday kind of replacement. Looking for a new dealership to service my car in the future. VERY disappointed
