13 year sim card blocked from porting or ID number fix , Porting blocked
I bought prepaid telkom sim car in 2012/2013, before Rica was thing if I remember correctly , now I am told my number is under a different ID and any attempt to recover is blocked, porting number to my ID number impossible, porting to other networks blocked, even if I can keep my sim inactive for three months it will be given to someone else, now have to find way to update my 13 year old number in every app and hope that people who listed me as emergency at school, policy documents have to update to my new number, My social accounts impacted. at this stage staff at overport and westwood says there is no way to recover my number, There is a possibility that I could be also considedr froad trying to ***** someone number even though I bought sim card and do not quite rember if rica was required in 2013 when Telkom launched batman prepaid sim, I am still on batman but no hope at keeping my number if I cannot do sim swipe and not sure who did the Rica and When since I was able to do sim swipe in 2018 without issues. Luckly the sim is still with me but if phone is ****** I will be in big trouble

Prime SA service provider network is reliable
I recently benefited from having insurance with PrimeSA when my car was hit from the rear, leaving a dent and causing the boot door lock to stop working. Without insurance, I would have had to take out a loan or go into debt. I’m very happy with their quality service, which also comes with a warranty.

Ignored when I cancel additional subscriptions, said canccelled but still bill me monthly
I asked for the removal of the extra services like NESTAR Drive, etc, two months ago, but they **** to me over the phone, saying it was cancelled. To me, lying is kind of disrespect from professional people,e as if I have to make another call for cancelling again and wait to see whether they lie again or not

Have decent mobile app features and in app offers
Have been a customer for 5 years now and l have seen interesting features on the app over period of time , my favourite is credit score check followed by discounts for members on services like funeral cover plans. will explore greenback next, some services providers do not support american express and I haven't measured returns on greenbacks in terms of value per spending yet but used it from time to time to buy small things like airtime and electricity voucher

Lack of options for cash customers compared to insurance claims
Was not happy with with after quote options. I paid for the quote and could not afford everything in the quote and asked for paint job only quote update but my request was not attended till today. If my requst was not possible it was okay to clarify that without silent treatment unless my request is against standard mechanic practices I can understand but expected more than silent treatment.

Virgin Active and MDB will blacklist me for service I did not subscribe for unless I pay without asking who activated membership
I cancelled my service due to relocation in 2021 and now in 2024 some how it is reactivated without my permission and have two weeks notice before I am black listed for something I did not activate. I sent email to virgin active without success on clarifying the issue and will be blacklisted in two weeks.

Charges while waiting for account termination can harm my credit score
I asked for account termination six months ago and was told that cannot cancel while there are positive balances, Submited refund details and still waiting for a refund and closure of the account. This increases the risk of missing payment since there are still charges while waiting for termination

Support calls with three agents line referrals to confirm ID and same query costs airtime
I wanted to cancel my account and the first agent asked for details before referring me to another line where the agent asked for the same details only to refer me to another department and ran out of airtime while trying to cancel my account

Fingerprint technical issues blocked access to my savings
Won't mention a branch yet but had issues accessing my savings due to fingerprint verification and that was it, left since was moved back to the queue to make a call to African bank support who asked if they followed the procedure and couldn't confirm since I was moved back to the queue while help desk was attending another customer. This means I had to stay and buy another airtime and try online verification again, Will try again on another branch when I have capacity
