This company works extremely fast, but they really do not deliver good service. My furniture was damaged - contract said they would wrap things in blankets which was never done. They clearly try and rush the move and managed to move a 3 bedroom house in an hour. They also dont care about any damages, do not recommend.
I am giving Discovery Bank one final opportunity to resolve this privately before I take the matter public. I closed my Discovery Bank account in October. Since then, I have been charged bank fees multiple times on an account that should not exist anymore. Each time I called, I was assured the issue was fixed — but again today, I was billed yet again. I truly want to resolve this directly with Discovery, which is why I am posting here before escalating to LinkedIn, social media, and all relevant regulatory bodies. I am giving Discovery one more chance to make this right. I kindly request that a senior manager contact me today to fix this once and for all. I have been a long-time Discovery client across multiple products, and I would prefer to keep it that way — but this experience is making me seriously reconsider everything. If this is not resolved immediately, I will escalate to: The Banking Ombudsman (OBS) The FSCA The South African Reserve Bank (Prudential Authority) The National Credit Regulator (NCR) And all major public platforms I’m hopeful Discovery can resolve this quickly so we can avoid further steps. Looking forward to hearing from a senior representative today.
I changed bank accounts and switched my debit orders. For some reason the debit order failed. I just received a call from an agent to say my debit order was returned. I asked what the reason was and he rambled off something, I told him I couldnt hear, and asked him to slow down. He kept speaking over me, so I asked him to speak to someone else, and he dropped the phone in my ear.
I did a quote, and they could not beat my premium. I have not had a claim for 3 years, and therefore requested my R1500 as per their (****) advertising. I was told I would be sent a link, and have heard nothing since. Also, the sales consultant was spinning stories about how he was going out of his way to included benefits that are standard. When I said to remove these benefits, he said they were standard. I already knew this, but it was funny how he suddenly backtracked from his tacky sales pitch
After purchasing a new car, I approached my current insurer, Indequity for a quote. I was happy with the offer and accepted the quote. I got the car at a very good price, which is why I purchased it. I myself am a professional in the insurance space, so I have a extensive knowledge and understanding of insurance law and principles. Indequity is now refusing to insure my car for the correct value, and will only cover me for the amount I paid. The basic principle of insurance is to put one back in the same position one was in prior to a claim. If my car is ******, they will not pay me out the retail value, which is the amount I require to replace it, but they are only willing to cover me for R100k less. Really sad that a company who works with degreed individuals tries to take chances like this. I will be taking this to the OSTI to make aware of the unfair practices happening at Indequity
Called in to cancel my policy. The consultant who spoke to me was rude, and very unprofessional. Being an insurance professional myself, it was evident that my request was not being followed. I was transferred to her manager, who was unable to explain the reason for their procedures to me. He then said he would be putting me on hold, and transferred me back to the same person as before. This kind of service is appalling, and the nonchalance from the manager explains why the consultants have zero soft skills.
