My experience with Solo Properties has been extremely disappointing. Throughout our tenancy and exit process, we encountered several issues that demonstrated a lack of transparency, poor communication, and questionable business practices. 1. Unfair Deposit Deductions – Despite thoroughly cleaning the property, including the carpets (which were still wet at the time of the exit inspection), we were later charged for carpet cleaning without being asked for proof beforehand. When questioned, the agency falsely claimed they were "waiting for proof," though this was never communicated to us. 2. Failure to Conduct a Proper Exit Inspection – The exit inspection was conducted without both tenants present, as my partner had to leave early due to work obligations. Issues that were later used to justify deductions were never raised during the inspection, violating the Rental Housing Act’s provisions regarding fair deposit claims. 3. Lack of Accountability and Avoidance – When challenged, the agency either ignored key points, changed their narrative, or failed to address our concerns directly. Even after multiple emails and providing clear evidence, they remained dismissive and unwilling to engage in a fair resolution process. 4. Misleading and Delayed Refund Process – We had to escalate our complaint to the Rental Housing Tribunal to get a portion of our deposit refunded. Instead of handling matters professionally, they attempted to justify delays and deductions with inconsistent explanations. We do not recommend Solo Properties to anyone looking for a fair and professional rental experience. If you do rent through them, be prepared to document everything meticulously and be aware of your rights as a tenant.
If 0 stars was an option that is what i would have selected. The "i don't give a ****" attitude that they have even when you tell them you are going to cancel is astounding! I have been trying to change my debit date for 3 months now and as a result i have gone into arrears. I have paid the arrears, however, they are not in anyway helpful with 1. Allocating the payments and 2. Turning my service back on. I get billed random amounts which they suck from their thumbs and i have just about had it now. STAY FAR AWAY FROM TELKOM THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS

Took my phone in for repairs about a month ago. A few weeks later I get an sms that my phone is ready for collection. We phone Cresta Repair Centre and a lady tells us that the phone has been repaired and that the insurance has covered everything.There are no additional costs. Great. Sunday I go to Cresta. We drive all the way from Horizon. The lady at the repair centre comes out with my phone STILL BROKEN and tells me that the phone is irreparable. She also tells me that my insurance has expired in April. Angry is not even the word, I waited a month to go and pick up a phone that was still broken.If my insurance had expired they should have told me the first time we called. I was expecting a repaired phone. The lady looked at me like I was being crazy for expecting a repaired phone. I complained on Vodacom's Facebook page and I get told that's not cool. Yes. I know that's not cool. It's also frustrating and disappointing. Further I get no reply back. Not cool Vodacom. Not cool. You wasted my time, my petrol and my phone is still broken. Ridiculous.
