We had the best sea vacation at Margat Beach Club last year November 2021. Our rooms all had sea views, and the place itself is at the sea so no worries about the kids having to cross the road to get to the ocean. My kids enjoyed all the days we spent there, their gaming rooms, their facilites and for my wife the clean ness of our rooms ticked all the boxes. I honestly wish we had spent a bit of more time there. I cannot wait to go back!!!
We bought a Patio Set at House and Home Festival Mall in Kempton Park. Sales Lady told us that we can lay-by the furniture and she will secure it for us. Lay-by was done on the 3rd September 2021. On the 17th September the sales lady calls us and tells us that the furniture is going fast, we should come make full payment so that they can secure our furniture. We get to the shop it is no longer securing our furniture but rather they no longer have stock she is checking another branches and we should still settle so that it will show on their systems that it is paid for. We then settled the lay-by immediately and she told us they found stock for us in PTA, we were happy and waiting for our delivery. All of a sudden on the week on 27th September 2021 sales lady calls us again telling us that the stock has been sold in PTA but she has found something else in KZN, Newcastle and they have stock two of them. They will deliver on the second week of October 2021. On the 1st October 2021 we now get a another call that our stock has been sold and we must come and take our money back. Imagine the disappointment!!!!! Sales lady says it is not in her control there is nothing she can do about it!! I am highly disappointed with the lies of Sales People at House and Homes and I will never recommend anyone to try and do a lay-by at House and Homes as it is nothing but just a lie!!!!
Yesterday I bought a ticket for Citliner bus from Free State, Theunissen departing at 16H30 to Midrand. Bus never showed up. I called Citiliner at 17H20 and they said they would call me back which they did not. I then called again at 17H45 and the agent Thembisile suddenly remembered that she was supposed to call me back with the bad news that the bus "apparently stopped in Theunissen at 16H10" and left without anyone at the garage even seeing the bus except the 14H00 bus from a different company. When I tell this to Citiliner they say its not possible as their bus did pass there. They offered me a refund or another ticket I agreed for another ticket. Thembisile asked to call me back after confirming with her supervisor, which she did, thank you. However I asked to speak to the same supervisor or Manager to get an early bus or another alternative since my mother is stranded in the Free State, all of a sudden the supervisor is on lunch at 18H00, manager is not working on weekends. My question is: Is this the type of service we should resort to for low cost transport. We cry everyday about safety of women and children and yet big businesses like Citiliner dont even care, they just leave a person stranded and just offer a ticket for the next day. No worry about how far that person travelled to get to the bus stop, where is that person going to sleep while waiting for another bus the next day!!! A bus is meant to leave at 16H30 and on its list there's customers who are supposed to be boarding at a certain time. But the NO they dont care, they just leave as early as 16H10. Is this the kind of service we sign up for when travelling with Citiliner? They dont even worry about the distance my mother travelled to get to the bus stop her safety for sleeping at the garage waiting for the bus to arrive the next day, they have no consideration for their customers. I hope somebody gets punished for this unnecessary incident.
On the last week of May 2017, I did an online purchase through Telkom website for their R199 BIG DEAL of that month, which included the following: 1. LTE wifi Modem 2. 5GB Telkom Mobile Data 3. 5GB Telkom Night Surfer Data 4. 5GB Day Time Data I was immediately contacted by their agent whom I asked to "clearly" explain the package properly to me, especially the 5GB Telkom Mobile Data. Her explanation was: you will get two sim cards with the Modem, 1 sim is for the 5GB Telkom Mobile Data and the other one was the 10GB of Night and Day time Data. I was happy with the explanation because I wanted to use that 5GB mobile data in my own USB 3G modem and leave the 10GB for home usage as we only home between 6PM and 6AM weekdays due to our work. Then I agreed to apply for the contract. Before I received the contract, they had sent me an sms informing me about their initial charge of R199 to show that I can afford the contract which they did make on the 7th June 2017. The package was then delivered to my workplace on the 9th of June 2017 WITHOUT Telkom contacting me, I had to call them on 12th June 2017 to find where is the package and only to find it was delivered on Friday 9th when I was not in the office and I was not even notified. When I opened, the package I realised that it only had only 1 sim card packaged with the modem and I immediately contacted Telkom again on the 12th June 2017 to find what was going on and I was shocked and surprised that none of the agents I communicated knew nothing about the contract that I was explaining. I cancellation the contract with several agents over the phone and they all kept saying that they will send a dispatch company to come and collect the device, nothing happened and money kept on going out of my account. I then went to Telkom shop in Festival Mall, Kempton Park on the 12th July 2017, where I hoped to be assisted and even they couldn't help me. I was given a cancellation form by gentleman called Tebogo Ramotsepe who tried to also call Telkom and assist but also struggled. I completed the form and sent it to an agent by the name of Yonela Matjila at Telkom whose job Title is Senior Associate. I was then contacted by a lady called Ditoro from Telkom on the 19th July with call ref: ********** 5 who explained the process again and informed me that they will need to get the conversation recordings first and then continue with cancellation. The last week of July 2017 or early August Ditoro called me back and told me that they listened to the recording and their agent DID SAY the package will come with 2 SIM cards that can be used differently, and she apologised for the inconvenience on behalf of Telkom which was wrong of the agent. She even went on to offer an addition certain amount of free data for 12months which I declined, I asked her to cancel my contract and pay me back as I haven't even used the data and the device. She then agreed with me and told me she will forward to cancellation who will continue with refund. End of August they still deducted my money, I called Telkom again in September 13th 2017 and spoke to a lady by the name of Anec Mhlambi who also saw the issues under my reference numbers and she also promised to contact Ditoro and make sure the deduction will not go through. She even sent me her email address to follow up with her. On 15th September 2017, I sent Anec an email to find what is going on, she also never replied. Came end of September Telkom AGAIN DEBITED MY ACCOUNT. I do not know what to do or where to go anymore because I followed all the correct channels in terms of cancelling the contract but they are just ignoring my issues. I feel that my rights as a customer have been violated and they just dont care. Please, please help. Kind Regards
