I wish i had read the reviews on Google and Hello Peter! The team themselves are good enough for what one would expect from a garden services company but the owner is very rude. Simply put, if you have an instruction which is not understood and you correct them. You will be told that you’re an irritating client and don’t know what you want. If you change your mind on how you want something done, you will get an earful. The team on the ground are friendly but the management have zero people skills.
We really looked forward to going but when we got there... It’s not a very clean place, outside or inside, but then again it is a diner so we decided to just suck it up. We wanted to order the jumbo ****tails everyone raves about but found the menu had no explanation of what was in the ****tails and our waitress had no idea what was in them either. She was very nice and polite though. We ended up ordering some lond island ice-teas which were very weird. Very little coke and quite weak, but insanely sweet. We ordered another soda to help thin out the taste of the lemon sugar syrup (something is wrong when the lemon syrup in sweeter than even coke). We decided to share a burger. Plain jane cheese burger with fries. The bun and fries were stale, the patty was covered in a gooye barbeque sauce (almost like a Spur steak) and the mustard we wanted to have with the fries came out as pale yellow jelly. Even Whimpy, with all that vinegar dissolving it, has better mustard! This stuff looked snotty. Then we shared a nutella milkshake. It was better than our drinks and the burger but the donut was a bit stale, the toppings really hard and the ice-cream was sort of tasteless. Very odd, it had no flavour, not even vanilla. A takeaway place has better softserve. The small consolation was the milkshake itself. The flavour and consistency was pretty good. I would just have that without any of the frills. Not worth the calories. But the worst by far was the hygiene when it comes to Covid. The lady making the shakes had no mask or gloves on at all. The other staff would constantly be taking off and putting on their masks. Some of them were talking over the food and shakes without their masks. We will not be back.
Let me just say that my wife really loves poetry. So, since I’m no good at Christmas gifts, I told her to choose something from them that she would like as her gift. My wife ordered two accessories on the 15th of Dec. 2020 online after we went to one of their stores that were out of stock. When she ordered she told me that she was a bit worried because, even though her status showed “paid” and she saved the order number, she never received an email with any kind of confirmation. We kept our phones with us since then to ensure we don’t miss the delivery. This morning my wife checked her status to find that her profile showed that the items were delivered yet we did not receive anything at all. She then tried to get in touch using their call centre which is extremely bad. The line died on her 3 times and only on the 4th call was it successful. After a few minutes an operator took her call, was friendly and professional. He said that the order shows delivery failed, yet neither of us received a call from our gates intercom (we live in a complex and the intercom has 2 options so they definately would have been able to reach one of us) nor a different number from a possible courier company. We have our call history as proof. The operator said that he would escalate the problem and get back to us. That was at 10am and since then, 8hours later, we have heard absolutely nothing. My wife tried the call centre again at 3pm this afternoon as well as just now at 6pm, holding each time for 15 minutes without any assistance. Your stores are lovely but we will never ever order online from Poetry ever again. It has now been 7 days without any communication (no confirmation email, no courier tracking number) about our delivery whatsover. Two days before Christmas and no gift yet. Really dissapointing.
The second time that i feel bamboozled! I had my rear suspension replaced because of the suggestion by the sales consultant. He also said that my front brakes are in need of replacing - which i declined which i'm happy about - because a VW service showed that it's at 50%! This is poor form and I've last all trust in Hi-Q (especially the one in Menlyn)
My dog tore a ligament in her hind leg, which required a costly operation. One Plan Pet Insurance didn't even blink when they were required to cover a portion of the costs. I normally expect resistance from insurance companies but was flabbergasted by the One Plan team's professional and efficient work ethic.
I was really impressed by BestMed's professional approach and efficiency in assisting us with the hospital admission and with settling the necessary bills. Kudos and keep it up.
Our President has put us in a lock-down but it seems like Pick 'n Pay Olympus (Pretoria) didn't get the memo. Staff are interacting within a meter of each other and were even seen hugging. Such disrespect towards our leadership and country.
