Response to removed review - Oak Tree Gardening Service
It is truly disheartening to see the level of unprofessionalism in Oak Tree Garden Services' response. I have never encountered a business that feels the need to block a client’s number simply because they realised they were in the wrong. After I raised my concerns about their rudeness, I was shocked to receive such an unprofessional reply. It’s clear that they have not learned from feedback, and their response only reinforces my complaint regarding their lack of professionalism. What’s even more frustrating is that, after receiving an extremely rude WhatsApp message from them, I responded with, “Sorry for the misunderstanding. Let’s see how we can fix this,” only to be blocked shortly thereafter. I’ve also observed that I’m not alone in my experience; several other reviews on Hello Peter echo similar complaints about their professionalism and people skills. It’s disappointing to see a business seemingly unwilling to improve or address these issues.

Beware of Oak Tree Gardens in Pretoria East
I recently hired Oak Tree Gardening Service and had the misfortune of dealing with Elmarie Nortje from Oak Tree Garden Services. Initially, she seemed pleasant and eager to help, but once I made the payment, everything changed. Her attitude became incredibly rude and dismissive. I simply asked a question about the services, and instead of a straightforward answer, I received a barrage of arrogant WhatsApp messages. When I tried to clarify further, she blocked my number! It’s astonishing how quickly someone can turn once they have your money. If you're looking for a reliable and professional gardening service, save yourself the hassle and avoid Oak Tree Gardens and Elmarie Nortje. You’ll be much better off elsewhere.

Poor customer care
I wish i had read the reviews on Google and Hello Peter! The team themselves are good enough for what one would expect from a garden services company but the owner is very rude. Simply put, if you have an instruction which is not understood and you correct them. You will be told that you’re an irritating client and don’t know what you want. If you change your mind on how you want something done, you will get an earful. The team on the ground are friendly but the management have zero people skills.

Poor customer care
I wish i had read the reviews on Google and Hello Peter! The team themselves are good enough for what one would expect from a garden services company but the owner is very rude. Simply put, if you have an instruction which is not understood and you correct them. You will be told that you’re an irritating client and don’t know what you want. Customer Service from Elmarie Nortje is appalling.
The gardening service is decent but the customer service is shocking. Elmarie Nortje has zero respect for anyone and expects you to still pay for services not rendered. I messaged her to cancel my service because of this and this was her response: "Sjoe,uiterse swak maniere. Duidelik verstaan jy glad nie,wat n maand kennis beteken nie. Vat daai geldjies dan koop jy water. TataShame,nie geld om my te betaal nie." For context the water she is talking about in the message refers to the water shortage in Tshwane where we're on week 4 without water. Please just stay away. There are many other gardening services out there that will actually treat you with respect. Also note how all of their positive Google reviews are written by people whose surname is also Nortje.

She simply refused any responsibility for the incident, cancelled her services and walked away!! After a discussion with my family, we feel that we have a responsibility towards the community to protect them against similar incidents. In the meantime, if you are making use of this service, please make sure that you do not leave them unattended under any circumstance.

After a discussion with my family, we feel that we have a responsibility towards the community to protect them against similar incidents.
