Yuck, yuck, yuck, and more yuck. I cannot fathom how anyone is considering investing in or using this bank. A loan shark would be more effective. I just wanted to settle my loan and emailed them for a settlement quote. They told me to download their banking app, which I did. I was told they would send a code for me to register on the app. Never got it. Eventually, I just proceeded to register myself on the app. The app said I was blocked and to call the customer service call centre. I did so and was on hold/talking to staff for what amounted to HOURS (I have screenshots and recordings). I was told to go the ***** department, the loan department, the accounts department, and back again to the customer service centre. They should have just sent me to the moon. What did I get? Nothing. The last customer service rep even hung up on me. My last straw. Spare yourself the grief. Do not use this bank even if your life depends on it.
I ordered a ring light from Takealot, but as I was testing it I realised that the light settings weren’t as described in the product description and the remote/switch doesn’t work. I logged a return and requested a refund to my Takealot account. The driver came to collect ALL the items from my home. I took a picture of the contents in their original packaging with the return reference code and so did the driver. A few days later I get an email claiming that I did not pack all the accessories so my refund won’t be processed. I email Takealot back to confirm that I packed ALL the items (tripod, ring light, etc). They have not responded to me at all. I sent a follow up email which was also ignored.
I ordered a glass & steel side table and received poor quality & service from them. I would not recommend you buy from this business. You will end up with a substandard product and no effort on their part to fix it. ✨23 July Order placed. WhatsApp’ed the business, which informed me my order will be ready to collect within 7 days. ✨3 August: I contact them via WhatsApp & Instagram to ask when my order will be ready. The 7 days has passed. ✨5 August: They reply that I can collect on 6 August in the late afternoon. The collection time is confirmed to be 16:00. ✨ 6 August: I call when I leave my home to confirm that I can go collect. I made about 8 calls all of which went answered. Eventually the lady calls me, tells me she’s not (she said she’s out somewhere in Constantia) at the collection point, and asks if I can come on Saturday. I say no and she says I can come on that day to collect. I go collect and when I get home to unwrap the table, the entire bottom (glass) is loose. I send them a video of this. ✨7 August: They say it will be replaced. I ask when and receive no response after several messages. Eventually I’m told I’ll be given an accurate date on Tuesday (10 August) when she’s in the workshop. ✨ 11 August: I message them to ask why they did not get back to me on the 10th. I receive no response. ✨13 August: I inform them I’ll be escalating the matter. They call to tell me they’ll check up on my replacement table and will let me know in 2 days. ✨18 August: They contact me to ask if I can come during the weekend to make the exchange. I tell them no, I won’t be spending more money & time rectifying their error. ✨21 August: They say the driver will contact me. I ask when and I’ve still not received a response.
My mother started a contract for me to receive 1GB data monthly, from mid-2017. Earlier this month, I got a new phone and wanted to port my number. In order to do this, I have to have a prepaid SIM, so we decided to cancel the Mr Price data contract. 1. My mother called Mr Price mobile to this and they told her that she could not cancel the contract under any circumstances. (Pretty sure it’s illegal because 1. They did not communicate this to her when she initiated the contract. 2. Most of these types of contracts are able to be cancelled with a penalty) 2. My mother again went to another Mr Price store (Bright Water Commons)and explained that she was not bound to continue with the contract and was more than willing to pay any penalty fee necessary. 3. The call centre consultant then agreed to cancel the contract and said it would take effect within 48 hours, after which I would receive an SMS confirming this (as the contract was taken out for my number). 4. Number 3 took place on Tuesday, 20 March 2018. Neither my mother nor I have received any communication from Mr Price Mobile. 5. On Sunday, 25 March 2018, we had to go to yet another Mr Price Store(Sandton City) to request an explanation. This time the consultation said he would call me on Monday, 26 March 2018 between 08:00-17:00. I kept my phone on me and on loud the entire day and have received no communication from them. 6. Mr Price claims to have these calls recorded so all the above can be verified. The store consultants at the above-mentioned stores can also attest to the above complaints. I am appalled at this entity’s lack of service and at what seems like a ploy to not release us from the contract.
