Dishonest and thieving company! I had used Courier Guy for a few years. My last batch of 30 parcels I sent out, all of them fitted normally inside the standard flyers. None were overweight. On 4 of the parcels they billed me DOUBLE, claiming that the items were too big! The packages fit normally in the standard flyer and were half the weight allowance. I contested the billing and they kept it at nearly double. Instead of R150 to Bloem, Durban it was R300 for a 1kg parcel! To make matters worse, they told my customers that my account was in arrears. There is no arrears, everything is prepaid for in advance! Even if there was a parcel that was overweight, the correct procedure would be to send me an email, explain that it is overweight and by how much, and then how much the additional fee should be. Instead they carpet bombed my entire customer list without any specificity about the parcels. They caused delays to parcels with customers that had nothing to do with it! NEVER AGAIN! CG can just make up bogus charges as they go, and they hold you to RANSOM if you don't pay their excess fees.
DO NOT EVEN TRY BUY A BIKE FROM CHAIN REACTION CYCLES!!! 26 July update: Took the bike to my local bike store. They confirmed all the issues I mentioned in writing which I forwarded to Chain Reaction Cycles. They also gave an opinion on the work that was needed to fix the damaged paint, as well as their guidelines for scratch and dent items. The best that CRC came back with for an offer- a £150 in vouchers, and they specifically stated that they would not refund anything to get the paint touched up! I told them to collect the bike, and would be packing it in the same box that it came in. Their next response: "what is the weight and dimensions of the box?". I told them to do their job, and go source that information from the DHL waybill when they sent the bike. During this process I have found countless similar terrible experiences by customers on Facebook and Google reviews. If those complaints are anything to go by, it means they are going to take a really long time to refund me my money (which better include what I have spent on shipping costs). 18 July update: Finally got a reply from CRC 48 hours later! They offered to pay for repairs to the bike at my local bike shop, and £150 in vouchers. What a joke! A 10% discount on a damaged bike! The damage to the frame is so severe I have been told it will cause rust issues if left untreated. Also, I do not have any peace of mind concerning the damage done to the fork. I have been told that the front hub is definitely faulty. So now I have to wait for my local bike shop to provide CRC a quotation to get the bike in to a "new" condition, as well as a list of all the faults with the bike that may need replacing (the fork and hub(s))- as well as an opinion on the frame damage. Also in the reply CRC wrote "I apologise regarding the slight colour issue, NS bikes have stated on their website that "Specifications subject to change without notice. Actual colours and design may vary slightly from the images on the website". I DID NOT BUY THIS BIKE FROM NS. I DID NOT BUY IT FROM THE NS WEBSITE. I PURCHASED IT FROM CRC ON THE CRC WEBSITE!!! THERE IS NOTHING ON THE CRC PAGE SELLING THE NS ECCENTRIC THAT SAYS ANYTHING ON THE LINES OF "Actual colours and design may vary slightly from the images on the website". The stem is the wrong colour, the decals are the wrong colour. The bike even spent several days in CRC's pre dispatch inspection department. What a joke! IF I SAW THIS BIKE ON A SHOW ROOM FLOOR I WOULD NOT HAVE GIVEN IT A SECOND LOOK, I WOULD HAVE GONE FOR SOMETHING ELSE! 1. Purchased the bike and an extra chain on Wednesday July 3rd. It only got dispatched from CRC on Tuesday 9th. When I asked CRC during that period why the bike was taking so long to get shipped, they said it was in "pre dispatch inspection". Considering the numerous defects with this bike, it is just so hard to comprehend what is going on at CRC that not only does it take them so long to ship a bike, but the "pre dispatch inspection" is completely useless. 2. The extra chain could have easily been placed in the bike box, or even in the "Goodies Box" inside the bike box. Instead, it was shipped completely separately. It is over a week later, and the extra chain has not even left Europe! It was purchased in the same order as the bike. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 3. DHL was meant to deliver the bike Thursday 11th. It did not arrive on Thursday. I called DHL on Friday, they said it would be delivered Friday. It did not arrive Friday. I sent an email to CRC asking to follow up with DHL, never even got any kind of response from CRC. Monday I call DHL again, they said it would be delivered on Monday, but again no delivery took place that day. Tuesday late morning I called DHL to ask when the bike would be delivered, they said they did not know, and I had to contact another courier service that DHL outsourced the delivery of the bike to! Eventually that courier service company "Ruddings" confirmed that it would be delivered on Tuesday, and it was. 4. The box was damaged, and the padding was leaking out of the box. It turned out it was the fork lowers that were exposed. The underside of the fork has been scuffed on both lowers. 5. The decals on the fork are not as per picture on the website. Instead of all black, they are the regular Rockshox colours. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 6. The front hub is defective. The inner cylinder of the hub is loose, and does not line up. You need to stick something in the opposite side of the hub to leverage the cylinder up, so that you can move the axle in. Removing the axle out is also a problem as it catches on the loose cylinder. I don't know if this is an NS fault, but it is definitely a CRC fault. Anyone inspecting this bike would have noticed this immediately- you cannot even put the axle in without a massive hassle! CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 7. The frame is horribly scratched and chipped. 8. The stem delivered is not per picture on the website. It is a teal blue with black. Doesn't go with the bike at all. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 9. The seat dropper lever was not setup properly. It was completely loose and flopping about. After quite an effort, I think I got it in place correctly, however, the trigger is extremely stiff, and if the dropper is down, it slowly rises because the tension is not correct with the lever. This would need to be serviced at a bike shop. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 10. The bike is fitted with "C" clamps. These are so useless and feeble, the brake cables started popping off the frame just while assembling the bike. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 11. The cables are way too long on everything. The bike looks ridiculous. There is so much extra hosing, this bike will have to be serviced properly to have all the cables shortened. CRC "pre dispatch inspection" fail. 12. I immediately reported all these problems to CRC yesterday. The auto response from CRC reads "...aim to get back to you within 24 hours". It is now 36 hours later and I have not heard a single thing from CRC. I used the online messenger this morning, the guy "Jushua M" confirmed they received my email. I asked him to please expedite the situation, but literally have not heard a thing from them. Not even a human confirmation that someone is dealing with the problem. 13. Some of the finishes on the bike are not as good as they looked online. The white paint looks a bit cheap. The rubber and plastic on the grips feels cheap. This has been my worst online shopping experience ever, and the most disappointing purchase ever. I really hope they collect their garbage delivery and give me a refund. Even a refund will be a headache, because I will have to try claim back the import duties and VAT I paid on the bike. This was not a small purchase, like a pair of gloves or a water bottle. This was a near £2'000 purchase! WHAT A HEADACHE!!! WHO THE HELL NEEDS THIS IN THEIR LIVES!!! Sam Hill, if you ever read this, I really hope you get a new sponsor. CRC is deplorable! 18 July update: Finally got a reply from CRC 48 hours later! They offered to pay for repairs to the bike at my local bike shop, and £150 in vouchers. What a joke! This is a horrendous store. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. The salesman Pascal lied to me when I purchased my new S10. He advised me to go with their in-house soft screen protector and if I didn't like it i could bring the phone back and exchange it for a tempered glass one. The in-house gel type protector has been terrible. Peels off. Gets bubbles. Took the phone back and they said they didnt have stock of the tempered glass. I tried another 2 times and they never seem to have stock. They never bother to call back either. The deal with the phone was free screen insurance. But never received any kind of confirmation of the screen insurance. I called Vodacom and they said there was no insurance. I complained to the manager Lee, and she said she would sort it out. Next billing cycle I see I've been charged for 2 months full insurance! An extra R160 per month which was not mean to happen. So even the manager of the store doesn't know what she is doing. Further, I could always buy airtime and data through my banking app or on any top up service. Now there are automated messages from Vodacom saying my number cannot be topped up and the only way to top up is by calling 135 and speaking to a consultant! I called in and complained again about the top up problem. 2 weeks later, no response I called in again. Pascal had the audacity to suddenly say he happened to be on the other phone with Vodacom trying to sort out my problem. Its a further 17 days later now and I still have not heard from anyone at Cellucity or Vodacom. This store are complete liars and completely incompetent. Spare yourself the aggravation and go get your contracts or purchases done anywhere else. Update 10 July 12:35 Earlier this morning I was told by Lee, the store manager, that she would call me within 30 minutes. It's now a few hours later and of course as per normal I have not had a call. Instead of simply attending to these issues, she then starts messaging me on WhatsApp being extremely difficult, rude and agitating the situation. She copied and pasted this review to me, as if that is meant to mean something- blackmail? trying to embarrass me? I wrote the review, what is she possibly trying to achieve!? She then had not sorted out any of the problems yet, and instead of getting her job done took all that time to mess me around further. She then said she was referring my complaint to a regional manager. Have you ever! Absolutely pathetic. Cellucity, stop wasting people's time, do your job properly and professionally! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS STORE!!!
I hired a SUV for a week. The first Nissan X Trail I was given had terrible brakes which felt badly worn and would squeak endlessly. We changed the car for a Kia Sportage. Returning the car it was fully inspected twice and cleared of any damage etc. They even opened the storage to the spare tyre and cleared it. An hour after dropping it off I received an email from Europcar claiming that the spare tyre was flat. I didn't use the spare tyre, I didn't even ever open the storage area to the spare tyre. Both inspections on returning the vehicle cleared the car. This is outright fraud! Will never use again and strongly advice other customers to be vigilant!
