**** **** **** _ BE WARNED !!!! SMITH Capetown. Advertises to sell "Handmade Leather bags" - with beautiful photographs of their products. I picked up the adverti*****t on Instagram, clicked on the "Shop Now" link to their website ( https://smith-capetown.com/collections/leather-bags) There was a 50% discount bringing the price down to R1095 for a leather tote bag. First warning sign - there are NO good deals. Whilst the order was processed immediately, it quickly became apparent that the order was coming from China. I immediately contacted Customer Services via their link (support@smith-capetown.com), I received an automated Bot-response and any futher communications and questions from my part were responded to in tha same way. I reported that I was dissatisfied with the order because it was already apparent it was coming from China, and I suspected TEMU Delivery was via Buffalo, which is the courier servcie used by TEMU. It took a 2 and half weeks to be delivered. I received the order today and it is a revolting cheap shiny plastic bag - it even has a toxic plastic smell. I went onto their Refunds Policy (see link here https://smith-capetown.com/policies/refund-policy) which makes it almost impossible to return the goods - it is all at the customer's expense and they reserve the rights not to refund under a whole lot of conditions. The returns are sent to their central asian depot. For goodness sake - it is NOT a Cape Town based company, or if it is, it is simply sending on / redirected TEMU products and the goods are CERTAINLY not hand made leather. I reported the Instagram posting from SMITH Capetown as a ****. I also saw that they advertised a sob-story that they were hving to close down their husband ad wife business which was so hard to run and not at all profitable and thus it was a clearance sale at below cost prices. O.M.G - where do these people get the gaul to continue *********** others. What reco**** does the consumer have?
I continuously receive Tele Sales calls for Kirby Services and accessories. Despite having informed them I no longer have a Kirby and wish to be removed from their mailing / customer list. The calls usually come over the weekend in the evenings which is even more infuriating. I am at my wit's end. Also very disturbed to read that they are not an accredited Kirby Agency, perhaps Kirby Head Office needs to step in to prevent this crowd giving Kirby a really bad name
I am unable to make successful contact with Discovery Vitality to obtain the Vitality Cancellation Form. I have tried every avenue on the website and the Help, Call Centre and Search functions all loop back to an automated list of FAQ and queries to read through. In the Vitality Rules they make reference to a Cancellation Form which is seemingly unavailable or certainly I cannot find it nor access it.
I have been trying, unsuccessfully, since May to cancel my cell phone contract with Vodacom. The contract was to expire mid-August 2018. I followed all the various instructions to cancel the contract, from calling Customer Service to going into a Vodacom Authorized Dealer on several occasions. Never is there a reference number given confirming the instruction to cancel, never can one sign a cancellation contract/document. Despite being assured that the account on the Vodacom System is on Pre-Paid and therefore no longer on contract, I received an account for August and my bank account was debited. Upon making inquiries I was again re-assured that I was now on pre-paid and the August Debit Order was the last one. On Saturday 15th September I received my September Vodacom Bill for R4.99 for voice Roaming. I cannot roam on a pre-paid account. Not only has it been more than difficult to cancel the contract, I have been inundated with sales calls to upgrade, to renew and to sell new products to me. Not one of these poor consultants was informed that I was not intending to renew, they could not find the information on the system (or so they said) and I had no reference number to prove that I had cancelled the contract. Customers should be entitled to sign a form cancelling the Debit Order to Vodacom rather than be at their mercy to stop the debit order. Surely this is possible. We cannot be held "captive" by companies to whom we make out a debit order for a service. Why when the service contractually lapses does the debit order not automatically lapse. Perhaps the banks need to set up a debit order that is date linked to the contract. With Vodacom it is all to easy to sign up for a contract but seemingly impossible to cancel. Please Vodacom come up with a better customer-service based method of cancelling a contract. Customer service is not only about selling. The current process (if there is even a process) is not user friendly and leaves the customer feeling frustrated, helpless and eventually angry. Never again will I ever enter into a contract of any kind with Vodacom.
