Hellopeter needs to add a ZERO star option so we can award it to ************ *****ed companies like Rise Property Solutions. They have just been appointed as managing agents at The Blyde in Pretoria East, they're flying in at a speed of 340 km/h chasing after imposing ******* penalties on owners for literally anything. They are "handing over" body corporate levy accounts internally to themselves, and they feel no shame for their blatant ******** conduct. I made a payment of R700 into my levy account yesterday, today they me a statement showing an entry of R80.00 levied as a collection penalty on my R700 which I have paid into the BC bank account, not a debt collecting bank account. I'm an attorney and I am not going to let them get away with their crime. For all people who read this review - MAKE SURE TO NEVER APPOINT THESE ****** as your sectional title scheme managing agents, you are going to create a lot of unnecessary problems for your complex. As an owner in a complex managed by these Rise Property Solutions fly by night ********s start going through your account statements with a fine toothed comb, you will see all the ******* charges they add to your account.
These guys deserve a rating of zero stars, this workshop is nothing but a ******** operation. On Monday 12 Jan 2026 at 8am I took my car in for repairs of the gearbox - one gear was kicking out while I drive, gear 5. Peter assisted me, said he would take no more than 3 days to fix my car, said he'd have a quote for me by the end of the day. He did no such. On Tuesday no one called me, at 1pm I called them and asked when they were going to quote me - Kim said before the end of the day on Tuesday. Again they failed to give me a quote. On Wed I took public transport to their workshop, a huge inconvenience and left my work to go physically ask them for a quote. I found that they had only stripped my car that day....Peter quickly whipped out an unjustified exorbitant quote of R20K, I told him to reassemble my car and that I don't have that kind of money. Look at their **** quote which I have attached, no proper itemised breakdown of costs of parts. When he heard me reject his quote he begged me to accept a revised quote of R8k....yeah you heard right - the quote suddenly went down by R12k. I should not have accepted even this 2nd quote because Peter did not buy any parts or replace any worn parts of my gearbox. He simply reassembled it without fixing it at all. I picked up my car today (16 Jan 2026), it only drove 50km before the 5th gear reverted to its same problem. I had to drive my car 406km to Gauteng only on 4th gear. The 4th gear now kicks out too. My R8000 has been ****med from me by Peter. Trust Peter at your own own risk, he is a sociopath to have taken my money claiming to have fixed my car when he hasn't and instead put my life at risk. I could have gotten completely stuck on the freeway as a woman driving alone at night. Please do not spend your money at this ******** enterprise, read all the reviews carefully....Peter's Gearmax workshop is a sinking ship. He keeps cars longer than he's supposed to because he has no business, he keeps cars to create a false impression that he's workshop is busy and booked when it isn't. In the 2 days he wasted keeping my car I could have taken my car to a better gearbox specialist workshop in Bloemfontein I chose Gearmax because they promised to look at my car promptly - don't fall for this trick. Don't use car repair places like Gearmax which has a rating of below 4.7 you will regret it.
I received excellent service this morning from customer care agent Justine Davids. She was professional and quick.
I entered this restaurant at about 13h50 pm intending to sit down for the R165 pp buffet offered by the restaurant on Sundays (as per the advert appearing on the restaurant wall outside). I was met by a waiter at the door who said there are tables available but it'll cost me R650 per couple for the buffet. I asked him why that was the case when the R165 pp buffet was advertised and displayed even today. The waiter couldn't answer me and said its the owners who made it so. I asked him where the owners are, the waiter pointed at an Indian man sitting at a table in the restaurant. I asked the waiter if I could speak to him. The waiter called him as I waited outside the restaurant. The owner walked out but first made sure to make a call on his cellphone. He proceeded to talk on his phone for approx 5 minutes while standing in front of me, throwing words like "****" to the person on the other end of his call. When he was done he turned to me with a flip of his hands and asked what my problem is. I told him it was the waiter informing me of a drasting change in the pricing of his restaurant's buffet. The owner first tried to lie to me, said "we are fully booked". I disputed that, reminded him that I was already offered a table by the waiter but he said I would be charged R650 instead of R165. The owner then told me he's not responsible for the R165 pp buffet advert posted on his restaurant walls, said his customers know of his R650 Valentines Day special coz its advertised on his Facebook page. I told him I know nothing about his facebook page. He said I should have called the restaurant to ask about the R165 buffet before going to the restaurant. I asked him where on the advert was it said that the R165 pp buffet is conditional and only available to those who call first. He then got very rude, told me I can go complain to whoever I want to complain to. I said I will do exactly that. This is a warning to out of town travellers and customers like me who are not usual or repeat customers of this restaurant : don't patronize this establishment. The owner doesn't care about you or value your business.
Don't sign up to rent a flat from the above complex. Reasons are as follows: 1. Poor management - keys for sliding doors not provided to create business opportunity for caretaker to sell keys and locks. 2. Highly unethical and unprofessional. IHS (agents) abuse power to vary credit bureaux info of tenants. The lowly caretaker working at the complex will even threaten you about your credit record as a tenant there. 3. Their "no deposit" promotion is a scam. They fool people into signing a rental agreement that states that they will owe R5600 (a month's rent) to IHS if they move out within 12 months, even if they give proper notice of 1 month. Because I'm a lawyer, I spotted this very quickly and told them I do not agree to this clause, I suspect however that I might be one of only a few tenants who saw this. 4. Customer service is rock bottom poor, the agents and caretaker actually don't know that tenants are customers! As I've said, I'm a lawyer but took a wrong turn when I unwittingly found myself renting a flat operated by crooks. If you can avoid it, save yourself from a headache of constantly having to fight to be treated with respect and good customer service. The complex employs a caretaker/handyman called Jean-Pierre Labuschagne. He thinks his job is to boss around, bully and threaten tenants of the complex. This despicable character has a corrupt relationship with Dayne Williams, a manager of IHS Property Management, the main agency in charge of rentals at Jackalberry Close. Whenever Jean-Pierre pulls his dodgy stunts, Dayne defends him to the ends of the earth. Both characters, while being male, come from a certain demographic that holds black professionals in contempt. In their tiny minds they think educated blacks living at Jackalberry Close want to fleeced of their hard-earned money by them. I have now resorted to reporting them to the Rental Housing Tribunal. Even there I was stone-walled by an official working at the Boksburg municipal office, who also happens to be male and emanates from the same demographic as Jean-Pierre and Dayne Williams. For current tenants of Jackaberry Close who need to report/lodge complaints to the Tribunal I would strongly suggest that you rather report them at the Alberton civic centre, 9th floor. In February 2018 I came into contact with IHS agents because I was interested in renting a unit they advertised in Candlewood Crescent. I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy to rent from this agency - they're racist, uncouth, disrespectful, unashamed crooks. Read all the reviews about them here on Hello Peter by searching "IHS Property Management". They have an extremely low rating of 0.9 out of 10 because of how dodgy they are. Before moving in I searched the internet for reviews but using "Jackalberry Close" I never saw the hundreds of bad reviews of IHS, because the search results don't show when you use the complex name. Please do yourself a favour and NOT RENT ANY OF THEIR PROPERTIES!
