Service received from Elizabeth small was excellent thanks for your service
Many are quick to criticize our Department of Home Affairs, but I had a great experience with them...multiple times since December 2019. I applied for a renewed passport/new ID card and 2 unabridged birth certificates in December 2019, at the Pinetown Branch, Durban. They were polite and helpful. Although it was over the Christmas period, I surprisingly received a text, 3,5 weeks later, mid January, to say my passport was ready. I then received a text to say some information on my 1 unabridged birth certificate was lost....could I come in again to complete 2 forms, and refurnish them with the missing information? I arrived, showed the relevant text to the security guard at the entrance...he allowed me to enter without any problems. I completed the relevant forms and less than 2 weeks later, received a call from a Miss/Mrs Pillay, to say they had them, but there was still an error on the one. She promised to get it resolved by the Monday and call me again. That’s exactly what she did, and I went in a couple of days later to collect both unabridged birth certificates. She said she would leave them with a Mrs. Scott, which she did! Miss/Mrs Pillay and Mrs. Scott were both incredibly helpful and polite during the entire process. Thank you so much to the Pinetown Branch of Home Affairs....very grateful.
I used Orchid Moves to move me at the end of January 2020. I was so impressed with their service from start to finish. I messed them around and changed my removal date twice, and also kept changing, which of my large items and the amount of boxes, they would be handling for me. They were patient and courteous with that entire process. They did arrive a little late, but the guys who did my actual move, were professional, polite and made an effort to not damage my stuff! It was one of the least stressful moves I’ve done, largely thanks to them. And did I mention, their charges are reasonable too!! #SupportLocal
Before my son saw Dr. Abdel Goad for a medical problem, I phoned and spoke to his receptionist in great detail. I explained his issues, inquired about which blood tests he should have done, but most importantly, I asked her, to please ask him, if he was the “correct” type of doctor, for my son to see?? She said she would explain my son’s issues to him, and she would phone me to let me know if we should make an appointment with him, or whether we should see a different type of specialist? She did not phone me back....so I phoned her. I had to remind her of our conversation, and when I did, she said he is the correct doctor, and we could go ahead and make an appointment. We did so and my son saw him. He was given medication, but only enough for a short period. I phoned his receptionist again, and asked if I could speak to him, as we needed a repeat prescription. I was told he would phone me. No phone call...absolutely nothing!! I phoned his other rooms as well, explained to the lady there. She also said she would get him to phone me, as he was busy consulting. Once again no phone call. I phoned both his rooms a few days later, only to be told by both ladies, he said we need to go and see a different doctor. I explained I had asked this very question initially, before our appointment, because I was told, he was the correct doctor. I also reiterated that we are not on medical aid...we had spent a few thousand on blood tests etc. Now I said, I have to find more money for possible further blood tests, that a new/different doctor may ask for!! I said if I’d been told upfront that he is not the correct doctor for my son’s problem, we would not have wasted our time and money, on seeing him!! They were not willing to let me actually talk to Dr. Goad, and I was given the strong impression, that it came from him. I’m disgusted by the way we’ve been treated, with zero concern for my son’s health. I would not recommend him to anyone else, because of this. I would have appreciated him at least taking the time, to talk to me, not pass messages through the ladies who work for him.
I did an upgrade by phone through a consultant at MTN Namita, 2 weeks ago. The phone was supposed to be delivered the following week. She told me I would need to produce my ID & give the courier a copy of my ID, as well as they would need my finger prints. I explained my fingers are very smooth, & there is often a problem with the machines being able to read them. This is exactly what happened when the handset/phone was “delivered”. The courier refused to leave the phone with me because of this issue. So now I have an “active” upgrade, WITHOUT an actual phone. From the day of the non-delivery, I have phone MTN’s 135 number, & also the ********** 667, to try sort this issue out, & to get my actual phone. I’ve been passed from person to person, no progress has been made whatsoever. The one lady, Saneli, did send an email asking for this contract to be cancelled, so I can go into an actual MTN store, & do the upgrade that way, so I don’t have the finger print issue. As of today, she had not had a response & had not followed up with it either! I’ve spoken to Charmaine at MTN direct this morning, and she’s sent an email to Namita (the original consultant who did the upgrade), as well as her supervisor, to ask them to contact me, to get this resolved. So far nothing!!! Why did Namita not suggest I do the upgrade in an MTN store, rather than on the phone, when I told her my issue with my fingerprints?? Now my records shoe I’ve done the upgrade , but I DO NOT have my new PHONE/HANDSET. No one seems interested in helping me resolve this. I am disgusted with MTN & their disgusting service, & for the majority of consultants I’ve dealt with, telling me to phone the “other” number, of the 2 above mentioned numbers. It’s a total case of passing the buck, & no one gives a damn!!! I will be telling everyone I know about this, & discourage them to use MTN in the future.
