Requested a driver in Simonstown on Friday 14 March. Was given a price which i obviously accepted. A driver & vehicle was assigned to me but had to wait 16 minutes - i use Uber twice a week between Cape Town & Simon's Town and have never waited this long. Anyway the driver drove through Fishhoek towards Kalk Bay, I told her not to take the Main Road from KB to Muizenberg as i was told by a friend that there was roadworks and therfore delays and should rather take Boyes Drive. No, she said the app was telling her to take that way. Anyway we were stuck in traffic for nearly 40 minutes for a 3.5 km trip. In Gardens she once again turned of the road to take back roads which I told here was going to take longer. Same answer from her. So, a 50 minute trip took 1hr40 and to top it all was charged extra for the trip being longer. Queried it on the Uber app but got a standard AI generated reply stating that the high price was deemed correct by them! So something that was not my fault and I had warned the driver about twice became my problem and they just charge more and there's nothing one can do about it. Shame on you Uber, wish there was competition available to us the customers that you so blatantly fob off and have no regard for to use.
Had an accident on Monday. Sent photos on Tuesday. Claim was accepted know Wednesday morning. Expecting money to be paid into my account within 3 days. Jerod whi was the person I was assigned to was on the ball all the way through.
Sold a Gabriel de Jongh painting on a previous auction. Received a good price and got paid. On the last auction (18 June 2024) they got me a fantastic price on my Rolex and paid me in just over 2 weeks.
Have taken my cars to Arnold's since October 2009. The owner sold the business in the last couple of months but my bakkie was due for a service so it went in on Thursday 15 November 2018. We were informed that the clutch needed to be replaced - it was previously replaced on 30-10-2016 and 33900 km earlier which I told them. We needed our vehicle on Saturday17-11-2018 but unfortunately it wasn't, causing major disruption in our lives. The car was collected on Monday at 11:45 but there was a gearbox noise (the gearbox was overhauled by the same company on 30-11-2016) so we took it back. By Wednesday 21 November nothing had been done so we insisted that we wanted our vehicle back, which to their credit they delivered to our house. The complete disinterest by the manager and owner throughout this ordeal was horrific. We had paid our account and were then told that the gearbox wasn't touched by them - one just knows they are already making excuses and this is going nowhere! The bottom line is that we were caught and it cost us a lot of money, and were carless for exactly a week - DON'T EVEN TRY THIS COMPANY.
