We had a great time at this establishment to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The ambience, food and service was excellent!
My wife's money account was hacked and the same happened to numerous Old Mutual employees almost TWO months ago. To date 08 November 2025, the "investigation" is still ongoing. In the meantime we have been to Old Mutual on numerous occasions to get feedback because the feedback from Bidvest is automated as far as I can tell because it is the same response every time! In the meantime, we have heard from Old Mutual employees that their money was repaid and that they have access to their accounts. My wife requested that her account be unsuspended because we are pensioners and she needs to get access to the money that is still in the account!!! A week ago we were back at Old Mutual and the consultant who assisted spoke to someone on the telephone from Bidvest and had the phone on speakerphone so that we could hear what was being said. Were told that my wife had to write a note requesting the unsuspension of her account which she did and the consultant sent it off to Bidvest and copied us in. We were told that it would take between 1 to 2 days for the account to be available. A week has since passed and my wife still has NO access to her account!! How bad can service from Bidvest Money Account get!!! Also every time that we make contact with them, they tell my wife that she will have to get a new card which by the way was issued on the day that she reported the *****!!! I cannot understand why she needed to get a new card in the first place because her ACTUAL ACCOUNT was hacked and not the CARD!! Sort this out ASAP!!!!!!
My wife's account was hacked along with many other people on 16 September. We were told to "suspend" the account while they did an investigation. A month has since passed and the only communication we have received is when she emails to ask if there has been any progress and up until yesterday 15 October, the answer was that the investigation is still ongoing! In the meantime, she cannot access her account! What the heck! The inconvenience and disregard for the client is beyond belief!!!!
After complaining to a consultant about a kettle that we had purchased from their online store and being told that we had to log a return on the Makro app, we did what you prescribed and the app showed that the item would be picked up on Friday 21 February. Well, Friday came and went and I am still waiting on the courier to collect the faulty item! I don't understand why I cannot return the item to a store and then the store returns it to the supplier because Makro is making the service available and it is THEIR reputation that is at stake! So very disappointed by the service received!!!!!
I have had nothing but great service every time that I made a claim or needed my portfolio to be updated. Absolutely awesome stuff!
Coffee Visited this establishment on Sunday 1 December after watching a show in the Grand Arena for coffee and waffles. We arrived at 5.30 waited for about 20 minutes to be served and ended up having to call a waiter to come and assist us because NOBODY came to assist. I must stress the fact that the place was relatively EMPTY and yet the tables were full of used plates and cups from previous patrons and they took forever to come and ask what we were interested in ordering. After placing our order, we waited a full HOUR for the waffles to arrive. They were TERRIBLE because they were rubbery and not nice at all. We were tempted to send them back, bit that would have meant waiting another hour! The service was poor, the waffles were very, very bad! When we asked why the service was so slow, the answer was that they did not know that there was going to be a show at the Grand Arena and that is why they were short staffed! Not a good enough excuse for an establishment in Grand West! We will NEVER go back there!
We have been without electricity for 34 hours! Canles were stolen around 00.50 on Friday morning. I reported this to the call centre at 4.50am. After numerous calls to follow up, we are still without electricity.! Service delivery? So cheesed off at this time!! Hazendal area in Athlone
