Never fails. Takealot is my number one stop when searching for books, presents, kitchenware, sports items... well, just about anything! If I can't find it on Takealot, chances are I won't buy it. I'm fortunate to live around the corner from their Cape Town warehouse & can pop in for a quick collection - QUICK indeed. I have never experienced such an effectively running company over Christmas time - ever!
I love this shop in Salt River. I usually pop in to get an item/two, but never leave before scouting for new and interesting packaging and kitchenware in each isle. The staff members are all very friendly and helpful.
Cedar Spar in Bothasig is excellent. Their prices are fair, the meat is great quality, the Cedar Pizza is the best & their take-away meals are some of the best I have found in any supermarket. Best of all is the staff - They are so friendly and helpful & feel like family (my family knows that I will never be back in 15 minutes - too many staff members to have a daily chat with!) Please thank your staff for us.
How did I only discover this theater after 23 years?! The ambiance is outstanding, the tickets are cheap, their meal deals with restaurants a plus and the movies on show are only the best - and I can have a drink while watching the movie! Old school cinematic experience at it's best.
A big shout-out to i[Kuhl-er], who seems to consider the environment. Their hair colourants come in packaging that is not wasteful - the box is just big enough for the contents to fit in & the gloves are inside a tightly fitting plastic bag - no waste. And it's manufactured in South Africa! Now if you can just develop a permanent Bionic Blue...
I have enjoyed my studies through Unisa thoroughly this far. A big shout-out to the lecturers of the Department of Religious Studies & Arabic, who actually interact with students on MyUnisa & via personal email correspondence, and also to Prof Michel Clasquin-Johnson, who manages a very entertaining and informative Facebook page.
Best & most affordable internet provider we've ever had! On the 1/2 occassions our service was disconnected, because I forgot to pay, it was re-established within 15 minutes after payment was received. Thank you Axxess, for making our internet experience a pleasurable one.
Great venue, hospitable hosts & delicious food. I have to commend them on the Heritage Day menu (2019), which represented all of Mzanzi's cultures - I have imagined that 'Runaways' (chicken feet) could look so appetising! I also like the fact that they do not offer wi-fi - instead people are enjoying each others's company!
Many years ago we had lovely experiences on the Shosholoza Meyl, but this tome around it was testing, to say the least. Our group went from Cape Town to Jhb & back. Up there we were delayed with 4 hours. Both times, the toilets ran out of water. Although the menu is offered to customers, hardly anything on it is available and the lovely bar in the lounge carriage does not carry any stock - what an easy way to make money for the company, but it's not happening. There were no hamburger buns for burgers, nor bread for toast - but they did offer to make burgers with slices of bread, instead of buns (did you get that - no bread for toast, but bread for burgers!) Maintenance is poor. It could have been great....
1 Star is too much for this department! It took them 9 months to process my husband's pension! His colleague had the same miserable experience. His folder went missing many times. Promised return-calls never happened. Calculations were wrong, over & over again. We were fortunate in that I had a small income to help us get by, sort of, but I cannot help feeling sorry for that poor man/woman, who's worked their whole lifes, just to live in misery for months after retirement, because of the departments incompetence. It's a disgrace!
