As part of John's booking form, he lists that his quote includes: 5) Submitting your documents to Home Affairs. a. I will submit all your documents to Home Affairs, on your behalf, after which they will register your marriage within a few weeks. b. They will also stamp the Marriage Register to confirm receipt of all documents required. We discovered 8 months after being married by John, that our documents weren't ever submitted to Home Affairs and we ended up having to pay a 3rd party agent to collect our documents from John and courier it to Pretoria where this agent processed our paperwork and registered our marriage. We were never given an explanation as to why John chose not to submit our marriage documents to Home Affairs.
John married my husband and myself in January 2020. We discovered in October 2020 that John had lied to us repeatedly about submitting our marriage documents to Home Affairs. When we made this dishonest behaviour public, John used the Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse for not submitting our documents. He failed to comprehend that the lie did not fit in with the timeline, as Home Affairs Marriage Department only closed in March 2020 due to Covid. I have a voicenote from John explaining that he had indeed handed our paperwork in, which is a blatant lie, as he did not. We had to end up paying another consultant who managed to get John to courier our documents to Pretoria and proceed with the registering of our marriage.
My previous review was removed, so I will post it again. It seems that John is discounting all negative reviews so that only the 5* ones remain on his page. John married my husband and myself in January 2020, before the Covid pandemic. Long story short - he lied to us on a continuous basis about submitting our marriage documents to Home Affairs. We found out in October 2020 that he never submitted any of our documents and we ended up contracting an external consultant to have our documents couriered from John to Pretoria. He apologized for his lying, blaming Covid - but he failed to see that this lie didn't correspond with the timeline as we were married before the pandemic. He hasn't once offered to admit to his failings. During our investigation as to where our marriage papers were, we uncovered that he did this to two other couples, one as recently as this year June.
Buying a 2nd-hand car can be rather stressful as so much is unknown and can go wrong. But Concorde Cars took the anxiety of the unknown out of the equation. Their after sales support is highly recommendable! I first dealt with Naz one Saturday morning when I viewed a car at the dealership. I enjoyed Naz's sales approach which was informative but not pushy. I had a ton of questions in the week following the test drive which both Naz and Gavin assisted in answering. Although there were a few tiny issues with the car once purchased, all of the problems were resolved immediately and with the utmost care. Gavin went over and beyond just selling me a car, he also arranged for some add-ons. The dealership has a great network of automotive specialists. I am confident that even 6 months down the line, I'd still be able to reach out to Gavin and Naz if I needed any form of advice or support concerning my vehicle.
Review for Orms, Cape Town Roeland Square: The professionalism of ORMS and the attention to their clients needs must be mentioned in this review. I own a zoom microphone unit that had stopped working. I took it to ORMS for them to handle the repairs, because they are distributors of the brand. They sent it on my behalf to the Zoom Technical Head Office and after 4 months of waiting, the device arrived back at ORMS. However, there were no signs of the proposed repairs to the motherboard. I took it back to ORMS, who was immediately on the side of the client, offering a full refund of the repair that was paid in advance. They also sent the unit back to the Zoom HO. In less than a week they called to inform me that the unit was ready for collection. To my surprise, ORMS supplied me with a brand-new unit, plus the option of a full refund. The fact of they still considered a monetary refund in addition to a brand new device, indicates a highly ethical and professional customer care approach. The visible face of ORMS was Joane, but I am sure that it was more people involved, so thank you so much to all of the ORMS team and especially Joane for the patience and the fluid communication.
John de Beer aka John the Wedding Guy claims to be an incredibly religious man offering marriage officer services. He married my husband and I in January 2020 and proceeded to lie to us over the period of 8 months concerning the submission of our marriage documents to Home Affairs. He never submitted our paperwork and repeatedly wove stories about Home Affairs being slow and that we should be patient. I discovered his dishonesty when I approached Home Affairs myself and was informed that they never received our documents. I then approached legal advice and an independent consultant managed to get John de Beer to admit he never submitted our marriage documents to Home Affairs. He couriered our paperwork to this consultant who ended up processing it herself.
I ordered a TV online and have been struggling to get it delivered. The online system indicates delivery in 2-5 days. I was later informed by a call center agent that it is 7-10 days for items on sale. It is now day 11 and still no delivery in sight. None of the customer care platforms work. Not the whatsap function which only provides automated responses to generic questions. Not the Facebook Messenger option which responds in +/-2 days and says it will be escalated and feedback given. No feedback received. Neither the call center - I've called over 10 times to the center, "escalated" my delivery 4 times - with no different result. I even offered to collect the TV from the store and was categorically told that isn't possible.
DO NOT purchase a new development from these builders! I bought a new apartment in Big Bay middle last year. I was firstly meant to move 6 months before that, but the occupation date was changed at the very last moment (2 weeks before), and then rescheduled 4 times. Initial inspection of my unit brought me to tears! The workmanship was horrific. I ended up not moving in for another 2 weeks to allow them time to correct my 4 page snaglist. Thereafter it has just been one defect upon another. And they take zero responsibility! I have completed an independent roof inspection, only to find that there is huge issues with cement being on my roof and corroding the metal, along with drains being damaged by contractors. When sent the pictures and report, TGP says my apartment is out of guarantee and that is for my expense! I have literally fallen out of guarantee period by 2 weeks. Other issues: I have skew walls. Our complex's chimneys aren't built correctly. The staircases are at uneven steps and gradients. Our roofs have cement on it and have not been completely cladded. The list goes on and on! They are absolute bullies!
