Great service and great value! You cannot beat Woodford's unlimited mileage and zero excess deal. Woodford is definitely my first choice for car hire.
I ordered an item advertised as "eligible for next day delivery". Six days later, the product has not been delivered. Takealot most certainly doesn't live up to its strap line of "Shop Today, Get It Tomorrow." Prospective customers would do well to note that claims of "next day delivery" are not honoured.
Pinnacle Warranty holds the warranty for 12 HP laptops that my company purchased from Evetech on behalf of a customer. When one of the laptops crashed, Evetech directed us to Pinnacle Warranty to have the unit collected and repaired. Despite a number of emails requesting resolution, it took Pinnacle Warranty a full week to collect the laptop from the customer. The excuse provided by staff was that they were waiting for warranty confirmation. Two weeks after collection, neither the customer (from whom the unit was collected), nor my company has received feedback from Pinnacle Warranty regarding the status of the unit. Pinnacle has failed to respond to emails from my company and from Evetech's Support Manager, who we contacted in desperation when we received no response from Pinnacle Warranty. I strongly recommend that tech retailers do not make use of Pinnacle Warranty as a warranty holder. The company's failure to provide good service reflects poorly on the retailers. Additionally, I recommend that consumers verify which company holds the warranty of electronics purchased from retailers and, if it is Pinnacle Warranty, that they reconsider the purchase.
On 25 January 2021 I attempted to purchase a laptop from a computer hardware store. The store's Speedpoint card machine was unable to complete the transaction and, although the funds in my account were reserved, the merchant did not register payment. I thus left the store without the goods. On 26 January 2021, after noting that the reserved funds had not been released, I submitted a written request to FNB (on the the form they provided me) to have the transaction reversed. I followed this request with numerous phone calls and another email on 08 February 2021. The issue remains unresolved. On 15 February 2021, I lodged a complaint via the online banking portal. As I write this (on 17 February 2021), I have still not received a response and the issue has not been resolved. A sum of over R11,000 is still being held in reserve from my account. The service provided by FNB has deteriorated steadily during the past five years, to the extent that it is now practically non-existent. I cannot overstate my frustration and disappointment and I will actively discourage my friends and business associates from banking with FNB.
Judging from the myriad complaints on platforms like Facebook and HelloPeter, I am one of many people who ordered from Loot and who have not received goods purchased, nor had any response to requests for feedback or refund. Loot’s failure to observe the basic principles of online marketing (such as a track-and-trace facility and responsive customer Interface) is evidence of deficiency at a fundamental level, and I would be unsurprised if the organisation files for business rescue or even bankruptcy in the near future. Bottom line: if you order from Loot you will, in all likelihood, not receive your order, nor be refunded on application.
