I was billed the equivalent of two months for my first month, which should have been pro-rata, mind you. I called when I first picked up on this last year and only until recently when they decided to increase my subscription cost did I see that the ticket from my initial query hadn’t yet been resolved (a year later). I’m calling again and now the lady is trying to tell me of unrelated charges and how they’re valid, despite me emphasising that I’m referring to the very first charge I received when my pro-rata period ended.
Terrible service. I placed an order with them, they charged a R1 verification charge (that’s fine, every online retailer does so when you first add a card) but then they called me a few moments later to say that they couldn’t start packing my order because the payment didn’t go through. , which was weird because I’d assumed if they successfully charged the verification charge that they should be able to charge for the order. I was then told to remove and re-add my card, which I did (another verification charge but okay, it’s refundable) and they said they couldn’t process the payment again and that my bank must be the issue. That’s really weird because I had MORE than sufficient funds for that order and I’ve never had this issue with any other online retailer (CottonOn, Microsoft, UberEats, PnP Asap, Checkers60Sixty, the list goes on). I was told to call my bank to “resolve this issue”, which I did. My banker said the same thing as me which is that if they successfully charged the verification charge they should be able to charge me for my order, so the issue must be on their side. Fine, seeing as they couldn’t charge my card for some reason, I send an EFT to their bank account and reference my order. Mind you, this wasn’t the first time I’ve had to do this because the first time I ordered, there was a similar issue and one of the customer service agents sent me the company’s banking details (via email, I have a paper trail) to pay for that order because they couldn’t process the online payment, hence I figured I’d just do the same again for this new order. Then HOURS later they tell me it’s against company policy to send an eft and that they’ll need to re-charge my card for the order and refund my bank deposit. Naturally, I refused until I received my refund for the eft because I wasn’t about to pay them twice for an order I have yet to receive. The guy asks for my banking details to process the eft refund, which I gave him, and the following day I was promised that my refund was currently being processed and that I should receive it in due time. They asked to charge my card for the order again, seeing as the “refund” is already on its way but I refused and cancelled my order altogether because at that point I just went to the mall and bought the items myself because this was too tedious and draining to be dealing with. We shop online for convenience, not to be stressed out throughout the entire process and there’s still the risk of not even getting your order (despite having paid for it) It’s been over a week and I haven’t received any feedback from them regarding this. I almost forgot about this incident until it popped in my head today, so I tried checking my profile to see if they’d sent any communication or any updates but that’s when I saw that my account had been deleted. It only says “A” by my name and no other details along with it. I tried signing out and signing back in but it won’t let me. I knew this app felt suspect from the start, but I went against my better judgement and lost on my cash. Thank goodness I didn’t agree to the second charge because then they would’ve *****ed me over twice as much.
They’re customer service is PATHETIC!!! I placed an order on the 27th of March, and to this day my order is still supposedly “being processed and will be shipped out soon”. I’ve received this same generic response from the customer service line (on Instagram) each time I ask. I’ve paid almost R2000 for several items. I understand that there was a long weekend during this period, but even with the long weekend, they’ve had 14 WORKING DAYS to process my order and yet, they’re still supposedly processing it. They say it takes 3-5 working days for the creation process, and somehow they’re knocking on 3 times that amount of time. There’s no shipping/tracking details, they don’t answer their phone calls and they keep feeding the same generic response each time. I’ve seen great reviews from this place and I was really excited to get my merch from them but at this point, I’m regretting even having placed an order with them. At this point, I just want my refund and I’ll rather just buy from Cotton On or Factorie because at least I know it’ll arrive on time.
Rain is truly and deeply a piece of S#!T!!!!! Wow, what the actual f*ckk!!!!?!?!?!?!?! This supposed “5G” is trash! Way worse than the actual 4G SIM card they sell. I’ve restarted my device over 50 times in the past 5 days since getting it and WOW!!!!!!! Never have I ever dealt with such ****py internet! It’s on and off and works for only 15 minutes at a time!!!!! Sometimes it just doesn’t even f*ckkkking connect at all, piece of ****! Spoke to one of the associates who said that the tower near by me has some kind of alarm going off hence the poor connection, but it’s literally been this way since I opened the freaking box!!!!! Save yourself the time and money, it’s literally not even worth it. Rather just get the 4G because oddly enough the cheaper one works and just buy yourself a router. This piece of nonsense is not worth the energy! Worst part, they’re still gonna charge you the full amount at the end of the month knowing DAMN freaking well they only provided a decent service like half the time! RAIN IS USELESS!!!
DO NOT RENT WITH MAFADI!!!!! Check their Facebook page out for evidence, more specifically what the "community" has to say. Lol, somebody even said "Mafadi operates like a ****a shop" They still owe me my deposit from two months ago!
I am still waiting for my refund. I gave in my notice in the beginning of July and I moved out at the end of the month. I've been waiting for my deposit for about a month now. Your agents at the Maboneng Branch are rude asf!!! Siphokazi, especially. Just so you know, I've opened a case against you with the Estate Agency Board and the Rental Housing Tribunal because clearly you people get off from hoarding your tenants' money. I will be passing by your office during the week to hand over the documents and just inform you that if you don't resolve this matter any time soon, legal action will be taken against your company. You guys are thieves and conniving little sticky-fingered parasites. Your business won't last long. At this point you're a fly-by-night. I've been begging and pleading for over a month now for MY MONEY?!? La nyela. Y'all are full of sh#t and lo bona masepa, I promise you. If you don't contact me after this, I'm afraid I'm opening a case and going to my lawyers because le tletse masepa pila pila ko Mafadi and nna, a ke dlale tseo! This a follow-up review to my earlier review. Still no progress on my deposit refund. I was told it was being processed after days after it was due to me as per the lease agreement and now we're approaching the following month with no avail. After the inspection with the caretaker, it was found that there was absolutely no damage done to the property during my stay, yet they're still hogging my deposit. I was only recently emailed the statement of the credit which is due to me and have waited over a week since receiving it and still no deposit. I've tried calling Themba from Mafadi (who then handled my refund after Siphokazi's incapability of doing so) who then told me to refer to accounts (Siphokazi) who just blatantly ignores my calls again and leaves rude messages without giving any update on my money. I've waited for these people to handle the closing of my account for almost two months now and yet they still have stories and are giving me the run-around. The refund is long overdue (as per the lease agreement), yet they keep extending the time thinking I'm incapable of understanding the contract we'd signed. Honestly, would not recommend using Mafadi Properties to anyone at all, because they'll just make your stay there and departure a living hell. These people will try their level best to mooch off of people's deposits and it's quite frankly unprofessional and disgusting. They lack basic etiquette and their greed is quite a disappointing site. At this point, my only option would be to simply report them to the Rental Housing Tribunal for their clear and obvious breach of the contract and move on. Their sticky, greedy fingers are honestly quite sad and I wonder how they intend on keeping their business afloat with their trust index being at -94 and their overall rating at 1.25/5 stars. DO NOT TRUST Mafadi Properties for anything, let alone to manage your property portfolio (as they claim to do). You'll wind up regretting it like everybody else on this site has.
Terrible experience. I stayed with them for a few months at one of their buildings (which, by the way followed ZERO of the COVID regulations), but when I had to move out, Siphokazi Matyalana kept giving me stories regarding my deposit., despite the fact that I submitted my notice 30 days in advance as per the lease agreement and when the inspection was done, everything was in order. I had to call her several times over the course of three weeks after moving regarding my money, to which she told me that they hadn't closed my account and that I was consequently billed for the month after I'd moved out. I complained and had to send her my relevant documentation (which, mind you, I had sent weeks prior to the move but she FLAT OUT ignored my emails). Then, it took her a further two weeks to reverse the payment on my account, after which when I had made calls to check on the update, but she merely ignored my calls for about 4 days. Only after calling from a friend's phone, did she answer the calls and FINALLY refer me to somebody who would help me. After speaking to the person, they informed me that they would STILL need to reverse the payment to my account and only after a week would I be told WHEN I would be getting my deposit back, for which I would have to wait another week for. This is ridiculous. Their customer service is trash and I certainly would not recommend living at any of their buildings AT ALL. Save yourself!
