We booked a table for six at six thirty last night - the Sunday of Easter. We finally recieved our food more than an hour and a half later - ice cold and tasteless. The ‘manager’ appeared after an hour and fifteen minutes to say they had run out of sides (the chips were frozen) - clearly this man hadn’t the vaguest idea of his kitchen or how food is prepared. It was a horrible disappointment.
This is in an incident at Blairgowrie Woolworths but I have observed similar at numerous stores. Today I entered your Blairgowrie store just after 11;00 am and it was exceptionally quiet with only a few customers however there was a clatter of loud voices at the till area. On completing my shopping - five simple items I proceeded to the till where only one was functional and assisting a client. At the next till 4 cahiers and were d****d over the counter - all looked up and saw me wainting patiently while a fith Woolworths employee was purchasing a donut. I waited for 12 minutes while this happened and despite the very clear undertsanig that I was waiting the continued to chat and laugh. When I finally get to the till and mention this to the 'packer' she says very cheekily - we were busy with a ' client'. So Woolworths if you treat paying customers with contempt while it takes 4 tellers to help on Woolworths staff member to purchase a single item then you can't expect me to pay your premium prices for such disgusting service
For good food but an extremely awful experience go here. The current owner, who's parents ran this establishment for years, is a piece of work. She is both rude and particularly unpleasant to her staff. I'm amazed that wealthy Johannesburg's choose to still support the place. Granted the food is good, but how can you stand by and witness the dismissive and blatantly rude way the owner treat her staff - let alone the customers. I refuse to support such behaviour!
What a delicious fresh take on this business which had gotten so tired and tatty a couple of years back. It looks amazing. The staff are amazing and the breakfasts utterly outstanding. Well done to the new owners!
This is a classic and to survive and still present classic dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday is EXTRAORDINARY in Johannesburg. From the delicate petit fours to the incredible roast potatoes, everything here is fantastic. The pop-up Tapas bar recently was a fantastic experience and we hope that popular demand bring it back soon.
Don't order on-line it's a chaotic process as the site is really badly designed and it is very hard to understand the categories but this is not the worst it's the chaos around delivery. I ordered 3 items and only one was delivered. When calling the help line (of course no one is able to directly track the order or provide any info) it has to be 'escalated' and the promise of we will get back to you - which never happens. So the frustration builds as one never gets to speak to the same person twice and you have to detail the entire story each time and the response is the same each time - 'we will get back to you' ! Well all I can say is that I will never get back to Leroy Merlin on-line!
This company come recommended and I am not sure why? The engagement with the sales person over the phone was positive and reassuring. Payment had to be up-front (alarm bells as this is basically an unfair practice) then appointment made for a very specific day and time. No one pitches, wait an hour, no one calls. When I call I am told the technician has been or at best is still on my property (no one has even arrived). Then a scramble around to try and find the technician (who apparently had run out of supplies) to be told he will be here in 9 minutes - which of course doesn't happen. So very apologetically and more than 2 hours later the guy arrives. I would not recommend this company if this is how they conduct business.
This company moved an average size dining room table into storage and returned it a number of months later and in the return managed to break an entire corner off as the tried to manhandle it into a lift. After promising to repair it they used glue and roughly stuck it back on both skew and lumpy - and covered the corner with black stain. When this was indicated they asked to 'repair' it again. Another hash job but this time plenty more furniture stain which they now mange to get on the upholstery of three chairs and still an Pauling job. Finally after all these 'chance' they say they will claim from insurance - well another couple of weeks wait. Then the insurance commits to paying. Three weeks later we are still waiting for this payout on a sage of poor management from the MD down - just a bunch of clowns. If you value your furniture I don't recommend you deal with this company at all.
Sad, unfortunate and hopeless - this is all I can say! I phoned to confirm they had a certain mattress brand in stock and was assured that yes and that to speed delivery I must order online. I did this. They promised delivery in between 1 and 3 days. Here we are 8 days later and they are still unable to deliver the required product as they did not have it in stock. I think this is a really poor, unreliable and most of all dishonest business practice.
The Courier Guy cannot be relied upon to deliver as per the payment for overnight but rather it takes 3 days without an apology to discover this. The tracking system does not work and don't try to speak to anyone except the call centre operator who cannot assist but puts you through to extensions that just ring for hours. It took 8 phone calls to find a single person who could provide an answer to a perfectly simple question. Never again !
