Old Mutual insure has been **********. A claim was logged December 2025. Its February 2026 and these people are still dragging their feet. Consultants by the name of Olebogeng Mohatjane has been very difficult to get ahold of. The claims handler Robyn was great when she took on this claim a first. She gave me all the necessary reassurancee that I would be given the attention I deserve after many complaints but it seems she too has dropped the ball. It takes 3 months to resolve a claim. In this entire time I have not been mobile. This is shocking and appalling service. It does not help that I can't get through to any escalation departments. Old Mutual / Old Mutual Insure is appalling!
It is such a pity that I have had an appalling experience with this insurer. More so because I am deeply connected to its history and know some of the founding members on a personal level. Having left King Price for Naked, i figured that I would have a pleasant experience as their reviews were quite high and many people seemed to be happy with them. The same app**** for me too UNTIL I had to claim. I drove my car on this one day where the weather was not nice. I figured that there could have been some water that crept into the vehicle and caused some damage. Naked then came to collect the car and took it to what I thought was a reputable panelbeater who took their sweet time with the vehicle. I had to borderline beg to get updates/answers. I have called Naked many times through out this inconvenient ordeal pleading for assistance to hopefully get my claim expedited. We reached the 4th week without getting my car back. And the funny thing in all of this is that I STILL have to get the car fixed because the 4 weeks in which the Insurers had my car was purely JUST to do the assessment and nothing else. I then found myself having to beg to get my assessment report. You would thing I don't pay a premium month after month for this. You would swear that they are doing a favour to me.
Took close to 3 weeks JUST to do an assessment on my car and determine what the problem was. I am now in the 4th week and I still do not have my car. Throughout this time I have not been mobile and have been using e-hailing services just to commute which has turned out to be a nightmare. When I decided to bypass the insurer and call the panelbeaters directly, I was met with a stinking attitude from a man whom I assume is the workshop manager. If you want to get pathetic service, you will take your vehicle to this panelbeater.
Disappointing service. Started off really well with a very confident and easy to approach sales lady. The acquisition of our vehicle was of extreme importance as we needed to fulfill a contract in a short space of time. The sales lady went from being over zealous with her promises to delays, not answering calls and messages and eventually under delivering.
In December I get debited my installment in the middle of the month (15th of December 2020) without my consent. that resulted me in reversing the debit order. I reversed the debit order because I knew that I will be able to pay the installment on the normal debit order date (between the 25th - 28th of the month) like I have been doing so every other month. ow I will be getting double debited end of Jan.. back in December (around the 27th) I had been trying to call you guys on so so many occasions yet I got put on hold and had to endure elevator music for more than 30 minutes on 3 separate occasions. As a result I couldn't settle my December installment. I wanted to apply for an additional loan but couldn't because I am now behind on my repayments due to your incompetence!
BEYOND PATHETIC!!! Vodacom is a business that is there to STEAL money from people. Getting into a contract with Vodacom is the absolute worst!!! Here is my encounter with Vodacom 4 U Eastgate Shopping Mall. My contract was due for an upgrade. All good and well, I did take up a new phone. unbeknown that Vodacom has subcontracted new thieves in the name of Finrite. There is a consultant at Finrite that kept playing games on my account. He was adding and removing device contract on my phone close to 6 times in one month on a single invoice. Now a little birdie told me that when sales consultants at Finrite add insurance on a contract, they get an attractive commission. To that effect, my statement for that month balooned close to 40% more. Till to this day my query was never resolved nor have I ever had my money credited back to me. The store manager, Sylvia was of great help and trust her level best to assist me but the lousy consultants at Finrite gave her a big MIDDLE FINGER. Then 2 months later, someone decided to play in my account again and add a 2 gb monthly subscription into my account/invoice. After I picked this up I cancelled it and immediately asked for a refund. Till to this day am I yet to receive my refund. THIEVES!!!
