I had to chase constantly to confirm they had received my payment. They broke several special items from people who had passed away but I never got upset about it as I know life happens and they couldn't replace these anyway. Then I realised my coffee machine was broken and I asked if they could use insurance to replace it. The coffee machine was packed the day of the move. They had packed up the rest of the house the day before. I had no boxes and no packing tape, they did the whole house. My daughter and a friend were there at the site and I was at the other. They said they watched the team pack the coffee machine into a box. It arrived sealed on my side. The machine was thrown into a box without any packing materials and on top of other loose items. It was ruined. I immediately got in touch with the team because I had confirmed they had insurance. I figured it would be fine. They did both the move and the pack and I had booked these both separately so surely the moving insurance would cover it? What followed was awful. I chased for two months and kept being told they would get back to me. They never did. I kept reminding and asking. I published a review on Hello Peter and they told Hello Peter to take it down. I was told that they never packed it and so it wasn't covered - but even if that was the case, it was broken in transit which is a different insurance. I even asked for a copy of the insurance and they refused to give it to me. Thing is, both my daughter and friend saw them pack it on the day. While I respect this is a 'he said, she said' situation, I didn't have any boxes or packing tape because they packed my house so how come the machine arrived in a closed, sealed box? I think the thing that upset me the most is that the person I dealt with kept forgetting to come back to me (or refusing to) and then when I posted the Hello Peter review he told me 'he was going to help me but now he won't'. I posted the review two months after I'd flagged the problem. Don't use them - they rushed my move, broke my things and then were awful about it afterwards. Not a single apology. Things break, that's life, but the way it is handled afterwards is what counts.
I chose Two Men and a Truck based on recommendations from friends. The experience was initially okay - they came in and packed up my house and then moved me the next day. However, moving day was awful. The team was clearly under time pressure so they were almost running in and out of the house and it was extremely stressful for us to manage where we wanted the boxes and furniture as they literally plonked things down and ran. Then, on unpacking, I discovered several mugs were broken due to shoddy packing. Unfortunately, two of them were gifts from people who have passed away which was devastating but irreplaceable. I didn't expect them to be replaced but did flag it with the owner, Jan. Who has yet to apologise. The one thing that did break was my Nespresso coffee machine. I quickly let Jan know and got back 'we didn't pack it so we don't cover it'. Now, I opted into a moving company that had insurance because I wanted cover for my items during the move. I assumed that this cover would extend to items I had packed and to ones they had packed. However, in this case, both my daughter and housekeeper witnessed the team pack the coffee machine and seal the box. I didn't have any packing tape or spare boxes so it had to have been their team. I was unfortunately at the other house so I didn't witness this. I said to Jan that this seems odd considering that I had paid for a company with insurance for the move and explained the above - that his team had packed it. This was on 05 February. He said he would get back to me. It is now a month later and he hasn't bothered. He has just expected me to go away. I can't afford a new machine and this one is unfixable. Upshot: Their saying they have insurance to cover the move is dependent on how they feel and I wouldn't use them.
I have been trying to withdraw my funds from 10x for weeks. First, it was no, you have to complete 10 litres of paperwork. I have to then print and download all the forms because they are signature password locked (10x says no they aren't but Adobe says otherwise). Then I have to scan them all in and send them back. I do this. I send the forms to three different email addresses. The wait is 5-10 working days. Which is also flat out ridiculous. Then I call again 10 days later. Oh, no we never got your emails. I send them again - this time 10 times to each email. No, we still don't have your emails and we can't release your funds until we get the forms. So, their system is probably blocking my email as spam because of the forms that they are demanding I send. I can't get my money because they demand the forms but their system won't let me email the forms. I can't get hold of anyone who can help me and frankly am considering legal action. I have lost my temper now with them and I am vaguely sorry for shouting at the support staff but frankly being told I am probably using the wrong email (I am not) or that they 'don't know' why they are not getting my emails is not good enough. Appalling. If you're going to force people into ancient and ****py paperwork for your audits, make sure your system works.
The service was initially awful. Nobody would tell me what was going on when my internet went down and I was really stressed out - this is my business. Then Sonne showed up and my goodness what a difference. She checked in on me, told me what was happening, gave me timeframes, and made sure I was connected. It was such a relief. This woman is gold, Metrofibre.
Run. Greg is an extremely aggressive and unpleasant person who likes to scream at people. He particularly enjoys being rude to women. Honestly, I am not even sure the properties he has advertised are real. If you're a seller or owner, I would avoid having him represent your property because I am one of many people who have walked away after abusive calls.
It started off so well. The owner was supportive and answered all of my questions. They built the place, then they painted it. The painter was appalling and did a slapshod job, and when I complained the owner lost his temper. A week later, I raised concerns about the build - a broken wall, badly painted areas - and he abused me for about 45 minutes. Endless accusations and calling me names and telling me that my attitude is a problem. I asked for treated floors, they weren't. I asked for so many things and got ignored. But by the end of the experience I was too scared to ask for things to be fixed. Really appalling experience. Avoid.
