Just visited the new Godfather in Parktown North. Great service,,attentive staff and a real desire to please. Best Kabeljou I've had in years and they even managed to serve tartare sauce without raw onion. Treat yourself and visit.
Three new phone accounts were added to my account of 30yrs standing at 6am Sunday 16th June. They were pre-approved so I was not engaged during the take on process. I called to report a *****, authenticated myself and asked for the transaction to be cancelled. It was not and still stands on my account. Luckily we stopped payment at my bank. The ***** department has refused to act until I jump through numerous hoops, incl FICA compliance and reporting the ***** to the police. They will also not provide me with a secure means of delivering sensitive docs, telling me to just send them via unsecured, open email. Today they lost a loyal customer when I ported my number out of sheer frustration, only to be told I will pay penalties on the *****ulent contracts. Who wants to do business with such an organisation.
For the last 2-3 years, every time I make an internet purchase with my credit card, sometimes with existing regular monthly subscriptions but also airlines, AirB&B, train tickets, theater tickets, Takealot, etc. My credit card is blocked and with no notification. I suffer the embarrassment of my card being rejected in front of others and then the ordeal of going through the ***** Dept to unblock my card. 2 mths ago my card was blocked on the last day of the month so all my credit card payments for the next day, 1st of the mth failed. It took 3 separate calls and a half a day on the phone to finally get my card unblocked snd payments reinstated. The ***** Dept is never able or authorized to give a reason. Std answer.... system blocked my card. Monday I asked how to get a reason and was told I had to lig a case and wait. Two days on I called back to be told there was a separate number to query cases, which I had not been given and anyway, not to expect an answer in less than 7 days. Std Bank has no timely way to log and proceed complaints and after more than 2 yrs of unexplained blocks, have app**** for an FNB credit card. If all goes well will change banks. Ss a high net worth individual, pathetic service.
Tried paying for an item by credit card today on Takealot site. No PIN received from Standard Bank after 5 mins each of 3 times I tried. When clicking button for No PIN, two contact numbers are given for Standard Bank. The first doesn't exist and the second is a full cost land-line number with no option for customers, only businesses and merchants. Forced to pay cash on delivery. Oh my......
Just had a really good breakfast at Croft. Great service, great food, exactly as ordered and really good coffee. A five star experience, well worth a visit
Standard Bank is using a resource called "Leaner, Affluent", based in Midrand, to email their high net worth clients, requesting all relevant documentation relating to earnings, so that they can be assessed for money laundering potential. Not only does this raise the spectre of phishing, but imagine sending all confidential income related information over an unsecured email service. Clearly risk, customer perceptions and relationships with valuable high net worth customers, have no meaning for Standard Bank.
Absolute perfection. Food brilliant, wine a good range from affordable to very top end and service to die for.. I am a regular visitor but brought along a colleague who is a former South African and he too was blown away. Job well done.
Am becoming a Checkers convert. Having formerly been a Woolies consumer for high end products, many of these are turning up at Checkers at much more affordable prices. Examples: Forage and Feast Camembert; frozen creamed spinach; deboned chicken thighs; fresh chillies and ginger; olives and tapenade; cucumber pickles and spiced beetroot. Often these products are half the price without any differentiating qualities as the same 3rd part producers deliver the products, albeit under different labels. Sorry Woolies.... losing it. Well done Checkers, gaining it.
Terrible order website interface, tiny font which you can't enlarge and light grey on a white background. Predictive text prevents your correct delivery address being captured. No order number on order confirmation and proof of payment required even for credit card transactions. Online query form doesn't work and support does not answer emails. Phoned me back when cut off (good) but 3 weeks on, order still not processed. Avoid avoid avoid.
