Purchased a TEVO Bennett Read Titan 20 vacuum cleaner. It has already been in 4 times for repairs. It is obvious that this machine is a problem machine. But they won't replace or refund. Not IF, but WHEN it breaks when the warranty is over, I simply have to throw it in the bin.

Installed a solar geyser. Good installation. No problems. To keep the 10 year warranty active, you have to service the geyser every 2 years but you can never get a response from them until you start throwing your toys out of the cot. This happens every 2 years without fail.
Why didn't I read Hello Peter before doing business with Dollar Thrifty? There are so many complaints about them on this platform. This is a long story made short, at each instance there was a lot of explanations leading to arguments, I really mean a lot. The worst experience I ever had in hiring a vehicle. On collection of the vehicle at the Durban City branch, the predelivery inspection sheet was filled with almost 50 markings showing all the faults on the body work of the Mercedes-Benz Vito. Inside the seats were stained and dirty. Not being much of a complainer I accepted the vehicle, but once on the road, the vehicle had terrible vibrations and rattles and felt like it was going to fall apart. I went back to return the vehicle, and was asked to take the vehicle inspector for a drive, he confirmed that the vehicle was not in good condition. I was then advised to go to King Shaka Airport about 40kms away and swop the vehicle there. The vehicle I was getting was none the better, but much cleaner. I completed the predelivery inspection sheet and the inspector asked me to take photos of some of the major damages. After a week, I returned the vehicle to the Durban City depot and they advised that they couldn't complete the return inspection until the vehicle was cleaned. The vehicle was not that dirty. A day later I received an email from Dollar Thrifty claims department that I was going to be charged for R17000 worth of damages. I called the claims department and asked for a description of the damages, and it was the same damages that were on the predelivery inspection sheet. I emailed the sheet to the claims department, together with the photos I had taken, as well as the date/time stamp of the photos. I received a call from the claims department informing me that the claim was cancelled and I would be receiving my R10000 deposit back within 10 to 14 working days. A week later I received my credit card statement, and I was charged a further R10000, so now its R20000. When I called them, they advised that I still had to wait for the first R10000, and they were not aware of the second R10000. I sent them my credit card statement. I received my first R10000 and today, 22 days later I received the second R10000. The manager at the Durban City depot is totally incompetent, and her customer service leaves much to be desired. Her staff follow her incompetence and lack of customer service. The call centre is the same. There were only two people that gave me good service, and that was Prega at King Shaka Airport and Chantal at the claims department. Take my advice, DO NOT HIRE FROM THRIFTY, EVEN IF THEY THE CHEAPEST, QUALITY OF VEHICLES ARE NOT GOOD, SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.
