Unacceptable service I have received from Van Schaik Online Bookstore. My experience reflects a clear disregard for consumer rights as protected under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA). I purchased a book from the online store that was advertised as available. I also paid for express delivery, expecting timely fulfilment. Only after the delivery deadline passed and I called the company was I informed that the book was not in stock. This constitutes false advertising and misrepresentation, prohibited under: • Section 29 – Prohibits misleading marketing practices • Section 41 – Prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive representations The Van Schaik online platform represented the item as available when it was not, which directly influenced my purchasing decision. Even after I was informed of the book being out of stock online it stills shows in stock. I paid for express delivery, yet the item did not arrive within the promised period. Under: • Section 19(2) – Goods must be delivered on the agreed date or within a reasonable time • Section 19(6) – If the supplier fails to deliver on time, the consumer may cancel the transaction without penalty I exercised this right and cancelled the order immediately. Despite my cancellation, the book was delivered a full week later. By this time, I had already purchased the book elsewhere—at a lower price—because Van Schaik failed to fulfil the order as promised. Delivering goods after cancellation is a breach of: • Section 20 – Consumer’s right to return goods and receive a refund • Section 21 – Unsolicited goods may not be charged for and must be collected at the supplier’s expense I contacted your team immediately to arrange a return and refund. A week has passed, and no action has been taken. This delay violates: • Section 20(4) – Refunds must be processed within 15 business days of return or cancellation • Section 54 – Right to timely performance and quality service Van Schaik failure to act is not only unprofessional but ******** If i could give this shop less than one star I would
I am extremely unhappy with the service or rather non service I received from Avis Van rental when I booked a van to rent. I booked online a few weeks before my event and received the booking confirmation. When I went to pick it up at Avis Grand Central in Midrand, I was told by the branch manager, I cannot get the van because I did not possess a pdp (This was never mentioned in the booking confirmation I received). Even though I said to the lady who assisted (I use this term very lightly as no assistance was given and she was extremely rude) that I was transporting less than 11 people but, we got the van because we had lots of luggage. To top it off I now find that Avis has deducted money from my account (R10.81). What was this for? This is pure thievery, at this point you are just *****ing from me as I received nothing in return for that deduction except wasting my time and money (petrol is not cheap) to come pick up.
We have been with Teneo Online school for 3 years now and even though they had hiccups' I was fairly happy with their service especially since the help function on the family portal was exceptionally good at solving issues. Now I am just really frustrated with all the unnecessary jumping around of processes especially when you ask for help the person on the other side just sends you a generic message that doesn't help you to get access and the process they assisted you with before to access PowerSchool is now not the same anymore. This is really frustrating and there seem no end to the jumping around. This is such a pity because I do think they have a really good curriculum and most of the teachers are excellent.
I've always been a big fan of Huawei especially their watches. I had a new Samsung Galaxy watch and actually gave it up to get the Huawei GT 3 watch as it has so much more battery life and even though I had to struggle with the integration with my Samsung S24 I was happy to do so. On the 30th May my watch stopped working and then took it to the service center in Menlyn and I am waiting since then just for a quote. Yesterday (6th June) I called and was told that they will send me a quote on that same day. Today nothing so I call again just to be told the same thing. I will never buy a Huawei product again.
Rain 5G service is ridiculous over the last few weeks as I can't even access simple internet functions and websites and internet has been below average. I tried resetting them, but it was useless and did nothing to improve network speeds( Should be up to 60mbps but instead sitting at between 2mbp-3mbps), but after testing them on other networks, they're perfectly fine. It's been more 3 years as a loyal Rain customer and even have 2x 5G packages, and instead of sending out a technician as I have been promised numerous times, I get an email saying I am uncooperative!!! Instead of sending me messages about the service's price increase "due to inflation", fix this issue because I will be contacting ICASA and also finally considering to cancel my contract before I pay another cent for another month.
Really if I could give Rain less than this I would. I upgraded to 5G premuim ultra Fast 5G with Rain in October last year and still till today its a joke at the actual speeds I get. I have complained to Rain many times and still nothing!! I have now decided to take further steps so have complained to: Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA) National Consumer Commission (NCC) If this does not work I am going to appoint an attorney and ask for a refund of the last years fees!! Its ridiculous that they can still have these false adverti*****ts and not deliver on any of it!!
The worst internet service provider I have ever been in contact with. My internet has never worked properly and I have made numerous complaints and they always stick to the same script that has never resolved my problem. They do contact you but never with a permanent solution. Here is a latest ticket number that serves no purpose at all: #11770028
Rain is the worst provider ever for 5G. I am planning on cancelling my contract this is ridiculous. I've had my modem replaced and many technicians coming to check my modem. The same thing happens over and over. My modem is connected but with no internet!!! I am so sick and tired of this BS, if I could give give them less than 1 star I would. My business is suffering and Rain just keep on apologizing but nothing changes!!!
