On Saturday 10 January 2026 I went to Ryobi Midrand for a blade and throttle cable for my lawnmower. I also needed parts for my chainsaw. Both these unit are less than 3 years old. All my power tools are Ryobi. I have been attending the annual yard sale for the last 5 years. To my shock I was told by the salesman that they do not have parts for my units as they have been discontinued. I now sit with machines which I cannot maintain. From the six parts I needed, I walked away with a generic throttle cable unit. Must I continue to support Ryobi, or do I now change my brand of power tools? If the salesman offered to assist in finding the parts for me, I would consider staying loyal to the brand. My lawnmower is a RM125P so if that is a mower you own you will not find parts at Ryobi as it is discontinued. My chainsaw is a CS38-35 with the same story.
From making the appointment to fit the towbar, until the fitment was a pleasant experience. The price is unbeatable and service top notch.
I went to Netcare Pinehaven for a hip replacement. I was treated with care and compassion. I highly recommend this hospital
I am not going to bad mouth Medihelp as they never failed to cater for my family. I am writing this to warn you to join a medical aid that will support you when you grow old. Medihelp does not approve joint replacement surgery if it is not caused by an injury. Their top plan does, but it is financially out of reach for a normal salary earner. My wife and I will this month part ways with Medihelp to join a medical aid that does care for you when you grow old. In short if you plan on getting old read your cover at Medihelp and change to a medical aid that cover degenerative issues.
For more than 30 years I had Homeowners Insurance with ABSA. I claimed twice for burst geysers during all those years. The last 3 years or so we had bad roof leaks due to the strips which was put on the roof when the house was built. I had numerous contractors trying to seal the roof with no luck. I then thought this is the time that I will benefit from my loyal support to my insurance. When I approached ABSA with this problem, they turned the claim down. They cannot claim it is due to neglect, as the person who inspected the roof acknowledged that there was work done to the roof. Thank you, Absa this will be the end of our journey together. Currently my complaint is on review which I was told will take 3 days. 10 days has now passed with not a whisper from them.
I did some renovations and needed a skip bin. I contacted Local Pros via mail and received a call back less that 30 min. later from Mr. Bin. Percy helped me through the process and the bin was placed at my property same day.
I bought a garden shredder 2500w made by Ryobi and used it almost a full day to shred tree branches. Saved me from driving to the dump and now I have lots of mulch for the garden.
My wife went to the newly opened Decofurn on Hendrik Potgieter road. There is an advert at the shop which indicated 30% off on items on the floor. She then did the maths and when she wanted to pay for the items the amounts did not correspond. Upon questioning the sales person she was told it is ''up to 30% off" This she learned was printed in such small font on the item label that it was virtually impossible to see. This is false advertising just to lure you to the shop.
Estate agents must work for both the seller and the purchaser. With our recent purchase Leandra assisted both us and the seller to settle this property. They managed to have our new property registered in 20 days. If you wish to sell your property do not call "Ghost Busters" call Leandra real Estate. They receive a 12 out of 10 from me.
