Housekeeping was incredibly friendly. Best staff in housekeeping I've come across. I had a lil baby and the housekeeping staff were very friendly with him and played with him. However the below are my issues with Riverside Hotel Durban: 1. Room was fine except Aircon on arrival would not work. When reported staff came in and changed the Aircon unit, only for it to a day later (on a very Hot Durban day) not be working again. We had to wait for staff to come in to fix it once again. 2. The Riverside includes in its facilities the pool, we had decided to have a meal at the poolside only to find out that all mealw must be eaten in the room and meals not bought at the restaurant are not allowed to be eaten at the poolside. In order to use the vicinity something must be bought. I did not appreciate being told , during our meal to leave. Neither did I appreciate the fact that as paying residents of the hotel we are are not allowed to eat our own food at the hotel pool which as was mentioned was included in facilities and what I believe we paid for. I understand the hotel needing to make money off of the restaurant however, as paying guests, this should not be the case as in any other hotel otherwise please don't advertise the pool as a facility of the hotel but rather stipulate conditions (buy meal at restaurant) in order to use the pool. 3. We did also do breakfast at the hotel . My husband did. But I was watched by staff like a hawk to ensure I did not eat a thing from him . I do not need to be watched. We have regularly visited this hotel and it has been our preferred choice for years however , in recent times, it has disappointed.
Food is the freshest I've had anywhere! Incredible service and do not have wait long for the food. Certainly impressed. I make sure to stop in for a meal on every trip to Durban.
Bird and Co Florida Road Food is always fresh and hot. Service is amazing, staff are friendly and food is prepared quick. Well worth the money. I make sure to stop for a meal on every visit.
In January, Checkers 60 App had a promo i.e. shop 4x and get 2x virgin active vouchers. Alas, we received none. I queried it and the lady advised on what to do. Only to still be told that we are not due for the vouchers. I queried it once more and the lady said to email. I did, the same day to which they responded to say they are escalating the query. To date I have received NO Response and ... NO vouchers. Is checkers now hoaxing us????
Deposited money into the Newcastle Mall Absa atm. The machine had a technical error and switched off but took the money. The slip that was printed just said that there was a technical error. This was NOT a small amount and I was worried the machine would start up again and somebody would take the money if it was spewed out. I waited at the atm for 2 hours and came back later to check however the machine was still off. As this was after hours, I could not get help at absa customer CARE which is absurd because they should have assistance for after hours atm issues. I went to bed stressed and went to report it to the bank the next day. They said they would take 3 to 7 working days to refund the money. I had to follow up. As it was 7 days and STILL NO MONEY. they finally refunded me some of my money, short of R 2000 something. Which they were okay refunding me. They had no intention of refunding me the full amount but I told them this is not acceptable and had to investigate further. They said they would get the technical team to do so. Without giving me assurance of receiving the balance of MY money. I asked for the supervisor number as this was not acceptable. They gave me a land-line no which had NO answer. So is this a bank that STEALS peoples money???
Extremely poor service at this particular franchise - McDonald's Old Fort Road, Durban. Not even the manager was helpful. We waited in a queue that had no cashiers at the till!! And when we were helped it was as if the Cashier was forced to assist. Terrible.
We regularly purchase Crystal Valley Milk at the Amajuba Checkers, Newcastle, KZN. Recently, upon purchase, we have found the milk gone bad before expiry and before the BB date. Its honesty becoming a problem to have to go into the store to make returns on milk. We have not even kept the slip as we thought its a simple milk purchase. Poor Quality Management
We regularly purchase the Crystal Valley 2L milk however on recent purchases we have found the milk gone bad even before opening. So sad
Purchased the Orange Grove fresh cream 1L yesterday (01/06/2022) from Pick n Pay Newcastle Town. Upon opening the bottle today, I noticed it was only 3/4 full!
The staff at Umhlanga, Durban Gateway pay no attention to customers, do not assist when customer is shopping. I recently shopped at the PNP Clothing and not only were the staff too busy and rowdy in their own conversation , but so was the manager in charge of the staff. They failed to assist not only me but other customers in the store as well. We had to wait for change rooms to be unlocked and have to call staff to unlock them . Staff take their time to come and assist unlocking change rooms. When requesting clothing items , staff says they do not have without even looking for it. My husband found the clothing item i was looking for by himself. This was not the only PNP clothing that we experienced bad service at. We visited the PNP clothing at Pavillion only to experience once again, the same customer service. NO staff assistance. At the till we were ignored for some time before a cashier dragged herself to her teller for payment. Staff do not even greet or ask if they can assist with anything.
