If a review helps you feel secure in handing over your hard-earned Rands in exchange for your chosen ride, maybe this review can help. We were in the market for a newer model used car. I looked at the Kia range after my son (on a recent business trip) recommended his rental Sonet as our next car. I was well aware of the brand having long ago accepted its reliability and quality. For practicality I selected a used Seltos at KIA Roodeport, which I am discovering does everything one would expect and more. It just works and is easy to live with. This purchase has negated anything remotely akin to buyers remorse. The sale experience included getting it registered in another province (NW) and for the first time in two decades, I received NW number plates when buying a vehicle in Gauteng. I would rate the after sales service as amazing. All my issues (two small and two big) were attended to with no pushback or quibbling and where possible solved on the spot. The Pre-Owned Car Sales Manager (Wilton Gordon) was not only approachable, but fully engaged in my issues as were the workshop staff (Thank you Lungile). I am very pleased with the Seltos, and so glad the deal was handled at Roodepoort!
Mozambiek Hartbee****rt. What a great experience in Harties on a Monday evening (nogal) in September 2024. Charles and the team have gotten the ambience, service and food just perfect. A heart warming experience for parents sharing with their visiting globe trotting, self styled "family chef" and foodie son (who is an old Mozambik patron. All we said was "spectacular!" I give our shared chorizo starter, our mains platter with garlic and herb sauce, and the espetada an 11 out of 10. Our town rocks because you can get what the big cities claim delivered right here in Harties, our dor**** Soul food - "lekka, nog, nog!" To Abigail the waitress a special shout out!
If you are looking for a reputable dealer, I am happy to recommend the Centurion based dealer. We purchased a used Toyota Fortuner 3.0 D4D in March 2023. It delivered on all our expectations including the agreed on sorting out of the necessary jacking equipment. Many months later it became evident that the auto gearbox had been overfilled. This required it to be flushed with new fluid using a specialised Toyota workshop rig. It was reported before the agreed on period for customer comebacks had passed and we came to an amicable arrangement with Auto Investment Highveld. Due to various other complications and despite the fact that more than nine months had expired since the initial purchase, Auto Investment Highveld kept their part of our agreement! Much appreciated to the management team and DJ from the sales team👍👏. #Make a "slick selection"...
It had been some time since we last visited our well known local Portugese Restaurant in Harties by the name of Caravela. As pensioners we were priviledged to be hosted by our son (he was here on a business trip from overseas and wanted to "go back there"). We have great memories of pleasant family meals shared at at Caravelo. Having had two braai days in the immediate preceeding time it was time for chicken and fish. As always we were not disappointed and the "no-one-does-it-better" Milo Frito is a must whenever dining there. The big wall Mural adds to the experience. Lekker man, lekker!!
Buying second hand will always have the potential for dissapointed customer complaints. The biggest negator for such pitfalls, is the selection of second hand stock on the showroom floor. Our third hand Fortuner proved to be a great buy as replacement for our written off Fortuner. DJ went all out to make the deal happen. More important however, is the after sales service. When you say what you will do and do what you said, it makes for customer satisfaction. There were some minor hiccups associated with registering the vehicle in another province and getting a new licence disk and number plates. All refunds were made as agreed for customer out pocket expenses. We are better off and pleased with this purchase,
I was looking for a Fortuner to replace our trusty family 4x4 that was written off. In February 2023, Sandton Auto advertised a 2013 Fortuner 4x4 Auto that piqued my interest after much research. It was priced correctly (so as not to be too good to be true), and amongst the other flashy high end stock appeared to be on the lower end of the dealership offerings. We went to see the vehicle and I inspected it thoroughly outside , inside and underneath. The car had not been cleaned below, which I prefer for inspection as one can spot any obvious tell tale signs of leaks and damage. The car was started by the salesman and it ran like a D4D should. We discussed the contract details and I asked for a full Dekra technical report for peace of mind. Over the course of the next days promises were made, the salesman had multiple crises that were all accomodated. But then, promises were broken. Calls were not taken. So we went to view the vehicle a second time and also determine if the lift was really broken (obstensibly preventing the vehicle from being taken to DEKRA). The salesman promised all was on track and that the details would be finalised over e-mail. I have copied my initiated mail below: Good day, ***. As discussed earlier today. Regarding purchase of 2013 Toyota Fortuner 3.0D-4D 4x4 auto for R 309 950, I am supplying the following information. Final transaction signature is subject to the DEKRA report being received and in line with normal wear and tear (no structural damage to underpinnings and suspension, and a clean bill of health on ECU stored faults.) Purchaser: ****** (SA ID ************x) Owner to be registered: ******xx (SA ID ************x) Banking: An EFT from Nedbank will be made after the DEKRA report and the Proforma invoice has been received. Proof of payment will be forwarded. The transaction price will now include my cost of the DEKRA Report for R309 950 000.00 plus the R4000 admin, roadworthy, registration and other “on-road fees”(excluding the cost of NW number plates for the purchaser’s account. Registered residential address of purchaser/ owner: ************, , NW 0279 (Street and Postal). Regards L Jackson 082 *** ***x After further broken promises, unanswered calls and WhatsApps, we resorted to phoning the dealership number from my wife's phone. This was when we were told that the vehicle had been sold to a person from a neighbouring country who made a cash purchase, (over a weekend nogal) and that in line with their "no reserve" policy, they had let it go without contacting us (I must have dreamt that we had assured them we had the cash ready). So, all is well when things smell fishy and the deal falls through!
No need to look further if you are wondering about trustworthy and reliable. This is the first time I have ever used a removal service, and then a service tailored to my specific needs. Moving pianos, leather couches and appliances gets more challenging after retirement. From quote to done and dusted it was a great experience and value for my money. I also appreciated the leeway to fix the move date (near a month end/beginning) closer to the actual date once known. Thank you Brian, Nigel and the team.
