This is advise on how to successfully run your business in 2025. Take your customers hard earned money and do not give them what they paid for. It does not matter how much they kick and scream there does not seem to be anyone to assist them so getting away with it is highly likely. I am writing this review because a complaint I lodged with the consumer ombudsman will unlikely be dealt with considering the negative reviews here. It is a very new review which could only be attented to after the holidays but I am not holding out any hope of it being resolved. I have been trading online for 16 years and have always comp**** with the consumer act treating my buyers with respect . If I had to treat buyers the way I have recently been treated by a certain company my account would have been suspended long ago In this world today it also seems that in business it is a matter of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. Hellopeter is guilty of this and are no help to the public either If a company subscribes to them they will remove as many negative complaints as possible. It is very threatening to be asked by Hellopeter to sign an affidvit when a complaint is laid. The company against which the complaint was laid seems to be untouchable. I have plenty of evidence to prove their unholy approach to me and maybe social media is the best place to complain. No one can be sued for slander when the evidence proves true and is in the interest of the public.
I bought an item from this company for R5000 and paid the R1000 deposit as required The agent then came back to me and said she has been made an offer by another buyer for R10,000 and whether I would like to match it. I was not prepared to pay R10000 This is not an auction. It is bought outright If they have a hundred sales running and I miss out on 10 are they going to then allow me to make a better offer on those 10 items? This opens a whole can of worms and does not guarantee ANY buyer they will secure an item None of this is set out in their rules unless they can prove otherwise.
I have been trading on Bobshop (Formerly Bidorbuy) for 16 years. Many changes have taken place since I joined, some excellent and others frustrating There may be a number of bad reviews here but there are thousands of upright and ethical sellers on Bobshop Unfortunately it is the "Do not care" sellers who cause the complaints One of the complaints said an article was broken by the couriers. I have had one breakage in 16 years and I felt uneasy about the way I packed it at the time Pack a parcel so that you can play rugby with it and it will not break Another complaint says Bob will not pay sellers out until the buyer is happy Why would Bob introduce this?? Because of "Do not care sellers" Please when laying a complaint use the users name not Bobshop. The seller should take full responsibility for his actions. Remember to check ratings before buying from anyone on Bobshop. I am a seller on Bob and when you complain that Bob is no good you say I and many other sellers are no good.
What makes a binding contract? A binding contract is based in an agreement that is arrived at through a meeting of the minds, most often by offer and acceptance, which is for a lawful purpose, supported by lawful consideration. and in the form, if any, required by law. It is, simply, an agreement that the courts will enforce. I bought an item for R5000 on movingon and paid the R1000 deposit required I was then told that a another buyer had made a better offer of R10000 I was not prepared to pay this and the excuse Movingon use is that a seller can withdraw an item at any time They are covered in their terms and conditions that they are not liable if the seller withdraws an item. Therefore the buyer has no guarantee to secure an item after paying the deposit According to the law this is ******* as the seller did not withdraw the item but was told by the agent they had a better offer. I then tried to test the agent on this matter asking if I could make offers on a few items I missed out on. Obviously this opens a whole can of worms when this is allowed They have so many laws in place for the buyer but it seems the buyer is not protected
Every bad review on Bobshop states "Do not buy on Bobshop" I have been sellin g on Bobshop for 16 years and you nip in here with a complaint and tell everyone not to buy from me or any other sellers who trade with integrity. There may be more bad reviews than good reviews about Bobshop on Hellopeter but it has been proven that 95% of people will complain before paying a compliment. Be careful who you criticize when laying a complaint. No matter where or who you buy from online there will always be a "rotten apple to spoil the barrel" so direct your complaint at the perpetrator.
Well Travelstart I do not know whether to love you or not. To get my flight confirmed I had to call British airways myself to get my confirmation. I called the 24hour number while everyone else was sleeping and the phones at BA were not jammed. The Lady at BA was extremely helpful. I forgive you,you had a struggle to get through during office hours with the pilots on strike. You managed to lengthen my stay in the UK by 4 days instead of having to shorten it by 6 days by securing me an earlier date. I will boo the pilots if I see them. They have caused me a lot of stress.
I cannot mention names because I spoke to a number of staff at travelstart and they must be as happy as I am that my British Airways flight, involved in the strikes, has been sorted out so that they do not have to deal with this anxious , harassed woman again. Thank you all for your patience,I appreciate each and every one of you.
I am very satisfied with the service and patience shown by Lindiwe Mcasa on a call I made re a British airway flight that has been cancelled due to a strike. She gave me good advise and answered all my questions in a professional way.
