To say I am shocked would be an understatement. On 16 March 2026, I walked into the Alpha Pharm Mid-Chem pharmacy for assistance after my Dr's appointment. This was shortly after 5pm. I handed my script to one of the assistants and to which she came back to me less than a minute later stating that Disocvery has rejected the entire claim. This to me was strange because, my Dr and I went through the medicine formulary and we discussed in detail which medications will be covered as such, it shouldn't have been a problem. Nonetheless, I was turned away. The following morning I called Discovery for them to tell me why the medications were rejected all for Discovery to tell me, that the claims weren't ven put through for it to be rejected. That under ylmy profile, no such claims reflect and the pharmacy didn't attempt to claim the medications that were prescribed. I subsequently went to a Clicks pharmacy which was much further away and I ended up getting ALL my medications as prescribed. When I returned to the pharmacy to confirm why they did not submit the claim, resulting in me spending the night with no medication and in pain, their response was: their pharmacy is not contracted with the Keycare Plus plan on Discovery, which in itself is a lie because I have received other medications before from this pharmacy but yesterday- they just refused to bother to check. I further mentioned that, the address they have on system is over a year old and I've since moved. There was not even an offer to update it to my current address. It's those kind of basic things that leave one with a bad taste and I will NEVER visit Alpha-Pharm Mid Chem pharmacy again. No one could give me a good reason as to why I had to spend the night in pain without medication when I'd come to the pharmacy to receive help and got nothing.

As customers we often ready to complain on HelloPeter when companies/service providers give us poor service and forget to do the same when they give good service. Afrihost so far, ( since 2021) has been quite helpful when i need my internet issues resolved and agents generally call back within 3-5 min when requesting a call back.
I don't believe it should take more than 8 agents to resolve a query that did not need to be resolved in the first place, had the proper ethical channels been followed. Does POPIA mean nothing to these corporates ?. 082 135, 082 1950, 082 1945, 082 197844. These are all the numbers I was advised to call in-between being transferred from one agent to the next with a common theme "no sorry, this is the wrong department, let me transfer you to the right one" As a prospective new client, all I wanted to do was take out a contract but I was blocked and the reason: they tried to sell me a contract back in 2021, i declined, now its 2023 and I need a contract but i am blocked because the agent(s) that kept hounding me back in 2021 never marked on system that customer has declined and kept it on as "sale in progress" THE SALE NEVER HAPPENED !!. After being sent from pillar to post, Noma whom i spent over an hour with on the phone tried her best to assist me and got as far as calling the branch in PE but that also proved unsuccessful because the branch apparently advised that, their systems are offline & they aren't able to check on system what she is referring to but the query has been escalated to a manager and I should get feedback Tuesday the following week. Excuse me ?? I don't have a phone NOW and I will still have to wait the weekend to get feedback. I still cant believe that my call that started at 9am 08 Sep had take over 8 hours to get fruitless feedback at 5:20 pm. It goes without saying, I will NOT be taking out any contract with Vodacom, i will only follow up to ensure that my details are removed from their systems. Its unfortunate that the relationship got off to a sour start before it even began.
