Terrible service from Makro Gonubie once again, I bought a Samsung A06 yesterday for work purposes, and then a few hours later, the screen gets lines on it and starts jumping. So this morning I take the phone to Makro and these people are telling me that I have to wait 21 days to get a refund or get a new phone! It's for work purposes and there is absolutely no way they can assist me. I'm very disappointed in the service at makro at first it was the washing machine I bought which took then forever to deliver and I live right down the road and now this! People dont buy these items to play games.
I've been without internet since Monday morning 7 July 2025, apparently my whole area is being affected. There's people posting about there frustration on Eskom se push. Which tell me there's a problem related with the tower in our area. I have called numerous times, since Monday 7th July. I sense no urgency with the matter, there's been no communication from Telkom besides, giving me ticket numbers for the call I made on Monday 7th July. There's 0 updates. The issues is still unresolved 2 days later. I would have thought the matter would've been resolved, Monday already. I just got off the phone with Telkom again and it seems like it's an indefinite waiting game. Not sure if they still have call out technicians as this is taking far too long. Sorry but if this is how poor your service delivery is. I will have to take my business elsewhere.
Good Day I purchased a Mahindra XUV300 1.2T 2019, there after I've been having endless technical issues which Mahindra South Africa has been Unable to resolve whilest the was in warranty, and now that the cars warranty has expired those very same issues are still present and they now have the expectation that I should now pay for a issue which they were unable to resolve for the last 35000km's whilst the car was in warranty. Motorland East London serviced the vehicle from 40000km's until on 60000km's before they stopped servicing Mahindra vehicles, because Mahindra and them parted ways. After sending my vehicle for a 70000km's service at Eastern Cape Motors, I received the vehicle back with the engine check light on. The vehicle was still within warranty, but my wife and I were told by the service lady named Debbie that we would have to take the car to a third party auto electrician. We were told by Debbie, that Eastern Cape Motors attempted to repair the wiring on one of the harnesses as they said the wiring was damaged because the car was involved in an accident and this was the reason for the engine check light being on. Which didn't make sense to me, because Motorland had previously also worked on the wiring and they never mention anything like that and the wiring of a vehicle normally sits in the centre of the vehicle. So in order to damage those wires the chassis would've needed to be damaged. Motorland promised many times to replace the harness but never got that far. My thoughts is that if wires are damaged, Motorland tampered with the wiring in order to attempt to fix the check light issue but failed. I drove the vehicle with the check light on from my 70000km's service until 80000km's service, because that's how I received my vehicle from the registered Mahindra service agent (Eastern Cape Motors East London). My vehicle is currently at Eastern Capes Motors for a 80000km's service and they (Eastern Cape Motors & Mahindra Customer Care South Africa) refuse to take accountability for misdiagnosing the check light issue since 35000km's when it was still in warranty and they were constantly replacing the incorrect components (cam sensors, belt tensioners twice) and clearing the fault on the diagnostic machine. The fault has been coming back, which is a clear indication that the fault was incorrectly diagnosed. I have been without a car between last year and this year many times for weeks on end because of this same issue, with only the promise of a courtesy car but never ever getting one. I reached out to Mahindra South Africa last year for assistance with this topic but they were unable to assist in resolving the matter. I will forward those emails. I also attempted to reach out to them Last week, explaining to them that I am still having the check light issue and told them to have a look at the emails I sent them. So that they are able to see that it's a topic they have been struggling with for over a year. I called Mahindra Customer Care South Africa on the 12 August 2024 and dealt with a guy named Nkosinathi, and told him "after sending my vehicle for a 70000km's service at Eastern Cape Motors, I received the vehicle back with the engine check light on. The vehicle was still within warranty, but my wife and I were told by the service lady named Debbie that we would have to take the car to a third party auto electrician". Nkosanathi assured me that he would have a positive response for me the next day by 10am, but he never called me and I ended up calling the whole day to get a hold of him and he told me that he escalated the topic and was awaiting feedback. The next day I had to call Mahindra South Africa Customer Care, there was no update. Waiting for a response. I waited for response from Monday the 12 August 2024 until Friday morning 16 August 2024. Friday morning I got a message that "Unfortunately" Mahindra South Africa can't assist with the check light issue as this is a new fault, different from the other check light faults but they were unable to resolve the check light issue for the last 35000km's and now they are telling me it's a new fault. They misdiagnosed the fault and just kept clearing it on the diagnostic machine, hence why the fault always keeps coming back a week or 2, or even days after receiving the vehicle back from the Mahindra. I am not sure if Nkosanathi truly escalated the topic as when I called 16 August 2024, I briefly got to speak Jolleen (Mahindra South Africa Customer Care Service Manager) and she was unaware of my problem, I shared my number and told her to please call me back as she is very hard to get ahold of but she never returned my call. Mahindra South Africa Is not taking my matter seriously. I need my vehicle as It is my only transport and I bought this vehicle to have something reliable but It has been far from reliable. I want Mahindra to take accountability and repair my vehicle 100% or to be honest and say they do not know how to repair the vehicle but they can't expect me to pay for every component to be changed on the vehicle as their fault finding skills have proven to not be credible.
I've had a terrible experience with Motorland East London. My husband and I purchased a second hand low millage basically new Mahindra XUV300 last year and we had basically no issues with the car except for the temp that stayed on 25 degrees. Then soon after a service the engine check light started coming on , immediately we took it to them and they said they sorted out the issue and the car is fine now.... fast forward a few months later the problem came back and they "sorted" the issue again and gave the car back....It was "sorted" atleast 3 times then we were told that our clutch is almost finished and will need to be replaced, mind you we never had an issue with clutch which costs R20 000 to fix. I asked the guy if there was nothing we could do to fix it instead of replacing it and he said that we could skimm it, the same day he tells my husband that we need to replace it because its beyond repair.... Then we started noticing issues with the clutch which weren't there previously. We asked if we could trade our Mahindra in for another second hand one with no issues and were told it is possible but then again later that day when I took my husband there we were told that their are only new cars available and getting a second hand one would be impossible. The light was still coming on and they said they needed to replace a harness or whatever and then while I was driving with my son on the highway the car completely shuts down. We had to get it towed back to Motorland only for it to be "fixed" with no good reason as to why it happened in the first place and no it doesn't end there we got the car back and found a leak so we contacted them and once again they told us that its leaking break fluid due to the clutch which as I said was never an issue before they worked on the car.... The lady in the service department kept telling us the problem but my husband had proof that when they tightened the cam pully or whatever they hit the master brake cylinder and that's what caused the break fluid leak in the first place. They have had our car way more than we've had it and they never fix their mistakes or the problem also they are so rude and never get back to you unless the car is "fixed" which in their terms are worse off than when they initially got it! The car itself is amazing but the service is horrible and the people are so ********. Still no call back and no car! I wonder what I am paying for? They also finish my petrol every time I get the car it's empty.
