A day before yesterday i was unable to unlock the car remotely , thinking that the batteries might not be working, i bought new and replaced those ones, but still did not work. I decided to open the car manually, but couldn’t as the key went half a way into the lock. I then decided to reported the matter to renault as my car was still under warranty. When i call the lady (Barbra from Renault dealer in Bloemfontein) advised me to call the road assistance so that they can go and tow the car to their workshop. I did as i was told and then talked to George Kats who was very helpful shame. At some point i remembered that the rear front door window was damaged and does not work, so i lowered the window using my hands, it opened and then pulled up the window knob for the door to open, that’s how the door opened. I then took the car to renault so that the car lock and key can be checked and be fixed/ repaired. Yesterday (28/11/2024) Barbara told me that Renault won’t be able to fix the lock as their warranty clause states that if i don’t service the car with them (Renault) the warranty will be cancelled. I am failing to understand how a service can affect the car key and the door. I was going to understand if they say the door has been repaired before, and not by them. The service book clearly states that “ Warranty will not cover work, damage or any parts repaired or replaced by a Service Provider other than an approved Renault Dealer as well as any claims related or linked directly to non-approved parts being used ”. Is this how Renault assist their customer?

I took my car (renault kiger) to automagic bloemfontein to repair the back part. When i get the car, the paint did not match that of my car, i complained and then they fixed it. I also complained about the tint that was damaged. with the tint i was told that they are not going to replace it as ‘it was stated on their check list’. Their check list missed one bullet number, and i think all that was mentioned on that bullet. I took the matter further by emailing, even today i am still waiting for their respond. I then complained to my insurer, they were also told that ‘they (automagic) are not going to entertain me’. I took my car there thinking that they are professional and that they will take care of the car, only to find out they will make it worse. I am hurt and disappointed.
The lady was very helpful, im happy with the service she provided and I hope she will continue to do so in future. Thank you.
