I manage a portfolio of 55 properties. We had a sewage pump installed at one of our homes by Trojan Plumbing, and it failed in less than a year. I contacted them to come and assess the pump to see whether it was covered under warranty. They required full payment upfront just to inspect the pump, which is highly unusual in my experience. After paying, they sent an automated email with no direct contact details for the team scheduled to visit. We were running late, which I fully acknowledge, but they cancelled the inspection without any direct communication to me. For a company that has already taken payment in advance, the lack of basic communication is extremely concerning. Based on this experience, I would not use their services again.
I have been banking with Nedbank for almost 4 years now. They have always been good to me, their staff are polite and always go the extra mile. Even when they can’t help with what I initially request, they always find some solution that works for me.
I had vehicle insurance with Discovery insure. The agreed upon amount on my contract with them was for R807pm, I was debited R902 for the 6 months I was with them. My vehicle got broken into, and my spare wheel ******. It was R7200 to replace the entire kit. Which is the quote I got from Kia. Discovery sent me a request to pay a R27 000 excess to replace my R7200 spare wheel. After that I cancelled my insurance in writing, I sent them a letter of cancellation, to which they responded. Then when I wake up this morning, I see that they still debited R902 from my account. This is by far the worst insurance provider under the sun. If you are thinking about joining them, I strongly suggest staying away.
We went through the drive though, at around 22:40 on the 29th of March, the lady at the pay/order section was extremely rude and kept cutting me off. She eventually got annoyed because she couldn’t hear my orders properly. She turned to her colleagues and insulted us in her language, and told them to “dirty the food” she clearly didn’t think we understood Xhosa. We ended up spending over R300 and not eating any of the food.
